Despise

Despise

I've just finished playing Dragon Age: Origin, but I'll get to that later. It was a great game though.. good plot, graphic is nice, gameplay is simply easy to handle. But.. seriously I'll get to that later.

What I'm gonna let out off my mind tonight.. is something that have been bothering me for quiet  a while. The things that I despise, about a person..

Yup, that's it. The thing is, I only come to despise the deed of the people, not the people themselves. But for the past few weeks, I come to despise certain people. I understand, that some people have their own nature and it is impossible to change them. Unless we talking about the kindergarten kids, which they can be trained and nurtured to be the way we want them to be.

3 types of people that I despise the most.
The first one is the one being two-faced. Meaning that in front of you, this person would be smiling, complimenting and all that to you. But behind your back? Seems every single one of your flaws be exposed to whomever could endure hearing it, even someone who doesn't even know you. But this type of person is the least that I despise, because there are always ways to handle such.. thing.

The second one is a person who talk behind your back. Its not the same as being two-faced, because you know someone being two-faced, is someone that is close to you. Back talker could be someone you haven't met at all. It all start with a rumors, then it spread out like wild fire, the next thing you know, you sitting besides someone who is completely stranger and you can hear him talking to you.. "I heard that you..." Fill in the blanks with the nastiest stuff you could possibly think off.
Wow, bummer eh.

The last and the most I despise of a person, is someone who likes to say that you are troubling her, making her work harder but never show what really is the trouble. Here is a situation. You meet a clerk, ask her to do some paperwork, scold you for troubling her, and get her paycheck at the end of the month with you money. Do you get it? No?
Another example, you go and meet your teacher, ask about your studies and ask for extra work, teacher scold you for troubling her and refuse to do the work, you paid you tuition fees but she got paid at the end of the month for.. scolding you.

Yup... that were my days...
This is just my random rants. Nothing serious really.

Of all the people I despise, it doesn't stop me from loving someone too.
Thank you for your all and always support Princess.

From the Prince aka Sunshine with Love.

Out of Dough

Out of Dough

Woo.. I'm down to RM5 in my wallet plus a butterfly.

What have I eaten for the past week? I'd just withdraw like RM50 last Wednesday.
What have I bought for the past week? A notepad and a pencil sharpener? Nah..

When I think about it  again, I guess it really have something to do with what I have ate.
Everyday, I would buy a food pack or 'bento' or 'nasi bungkus' for both lunch and dinner. Usually it cost me like RM3.50 to RM4.00 per pack. Then on my home from the food court, I'll stop by a convenience store and bought like 3-4 can of Coffee-O. For the urm.. all-nighters that I've been pulling the whole week.
And that ladies and gentlemen, cost me about RM3.60 or RM4.80.
Put it all together, and you can see I spend almost RM10.00 a day.

Now what that makes of me?
A prison inmate who had 3 meals a day for RM10? Nah. even the inmates are well fed..

Bottom line is that,
I've received an e-mail from my father telling me that my credit card bit a little bit too much for the month. Wow...
So, what have I been eating and drinking this month??

Book: Space Wolf - The Second Omnibus

Book: Space Wolf - The Second Omnibus

As you can see from the above screenshot, it is the book. The one titled Space Wolf - The Second Omnibus. I bought it in a bookstore called the Borders at the Gardens near Midvalley. I bought it almost 3 weeks ago and finished reading it a week ago.
I know, why am I posting about this book, which is the Second Omnibus? Don't get me wrong, I had the First Omnibus back at home and also had finished reading it too. But I'm gonna post about the second book first because the first one is not with me right now. I'll get to that later.

Anyway, the book is a sci-fi novel. Its about the universe of Warhammer 40k, in this particular book its exclusively about one the many chapters of Space Marine, The Space Wolf. Before I go about the book's content, let me tell the background of this novel universe.

The story revolves around a fictional future of mankind, in the 41st millennium. Where in that time, fictionally of course, mankind have develop space-faring activities and colonize countless of worlds. In this universe, the mankind have united under on banner, the Imperium of Mankind. United by force of course, when among the men rises one outstanding individual called the Emperor of Mankind. Story of it is that the Emperor launched a crusade to bring the entire mankind under his banner with brute and absolute power. No one know where this man is from or what kind of man is he. But he seems to be immortal as he lives a thousand lifetime.

The emperor had a vision, where the worlds at peace and the mankind stands triumph. To achieve this, he created a genetically-engineered super soldier using his own genetic, known to be his sons, the twelve primarchs. The primarchs are expected to be the generals, the statesman, the governers and all the things that a normal man could never achieved in one lifetime, in the image of the emperor himself. Things happened, and his sons were scattered across the galaxy and so began the Great Crusade in the 30th millennium.

The great crusade was lead by the greatest of mankind, the Space Marine, legions of super soldier created by the genetics of the former primarchs which later were found one by one as new worlds were conquered. The primarchs that were found quickly made the commanders of the Space Marines Legions, and the Imperium expand almost throughout the galaxy. As the great crusade progressed, the unexpected happened, the Horus Heresy occurred where half of the Space Marine Legions turned traitor, becoming the Chaos Marines, and attacked the Holy Terra (Earth). Horus, the emperor's favorite son was killed by the emperor himself. But the emperor was too gravely wounded and forever entombed to the Golden Throne.

Now it is the 41st millenium, and the mighty Space Marine Legions are reduced to small Chapters so that the Horus Heresy will never occurred again, serving loyally by the will of the emperor. Assisted by the Imperial Guards and Navy, the Space Marine stood fast as the protecter of mankind from heretics, mutants and xenos. Known as the emperor's Angel of Death, they fought against the relentless Ork, the vile Eldar, the suspicious Tau, the undead Necrons, the countless Tyranid and the treacherous Chaos Marines.

In this novel, the story is about a young Space Marine called Ragnar Blackmane from the Space Wolf chapter who was destined to do great things. The story started as Ragnar was fighting the forces of Chaos with his company, and among his aspirants they asked of him how did he become the Wolf Lord without being a Grey Hunter first. Then Ragnar told his tale..

In the Second Omnibus, Ragnar continued his journey from being outcast by his chapter. The Great Wolf of Space Wolf chapter had assigned him to be the Wolfblade, the twelve selected warriors from the chapter to be the bodyguards of the House of Belisarius, a house of Navigators that serves the Space Wolf. From there, he travelled to Holy Terra and learned the true nature of Imperium politics as the emperor sat immobile in his Golden Throne.

His adventures went from the attempt of assassination of the Belisarius leader, to the treachery of the Imperial Guard commander who turned to be the Fallen, traitor of Dark Angels chapter. His journey continues as he once again met with Maddox, a Chaos sorcerer from one of the Traitor Legion of the Thousand Sons, who try to cast the Wulfen curse onto the entire Space Wolf chapter. In his journey to end the attempt, he met with the old Space Wolf Legion of the Thirteenth Company which was rumored to be missing after giving a chase to the Traitor Legion, the Thousand Sons Legion after burning their homeworld of Prospero.

Ok, because this the Second Omnibus so the story continued on about how Ragnar finally able to retrieve the Spear of Russ, a relic belonged to the Space Wolf primarch, Leman Russ. From there, Ragnar learned the significance of the relic and also learned about what the Thirteenth Company had gone through. They were missing about 10 millennium ago, and it was shocking that they still held to their former mission, to hunt down every single one of Thousand Sons Chaos Marines.

The stories in this novel is divided into 3 stories, the Wolfblade, the Sons of Fenris, and the Wolf's Honour. In each of that stories, there were several other chapters that compiled the entire 3 novel in one omnibus.

I really enjoyed this book because I myself is a fan of the Warhammer 40k universe. I liked especially about the Space Marines, who are genetically-engineered humans specifically for war. The Space Wolf particularly is a chapter of Space Marines that their units have a slight more heighten senses compared to other Space Marine. They all bore the mark called the Mark of Russ which is the long fangs, sharp claws and a wolf-like appearance. And this Space Marines seems to be aged but never died of old age. The fact that in this novel, the Thirteenth Company that have been missing for 10 millennium still pursuing their objective with the former members of the company. And there was also the Fallen who had betrayed his chapter 10 milleanium ago and still living on as mercenary or hired gun. The Space Marine seems to be dying in battle or otherwise accidentally killed themselves only.

Well, what I'm babbling about the Space Marine for.. there a lot to write about them and the novel only focus on one Space Marine, Ragnar Blackmane of the Space Wolf. If I were to write about the Space Marine, it would be on another post. Haha

I bought the book at the price of RM56.90 and I'd say its a good bargain. At least it opened me up to more of the Warhammer 40k universe and adventures. There a re lot of other omnibus out there. I've already had the Space Wolf First and Second Omnibus, and the Ultramarine First Omnibus.

This book is a good read and must have to all Warhammer 40k  fan out there.
Seriously! Unless you are into heretics, mutants and xenos. Heh :D

Walk of Shame...

Today, I got my test result for one of my subject.
To my surprises, I failed. Usually I wouldn't blame the lecturers or the people around me. But this time.. This time its different.

The truth is that, when I did the test, I'm pretty sure that I did it all right. But I did left one question out because I missed reading about it. But all other questions? I wrote down the answers confidently. I wrote down everything that I could possibly remember from the chapters. And wrote them down good.

But when the results come out, and the paper were returned back to me.. I was shocked.
I got 1 mark for every single paragraph that I wrote. I put down the points, and I elaborated it as much as possible. I'm pretty sure I could had 3 marks for introduction, elaboration and closing.. for every paragraph that I wrote.

I might had a fight with this particular lecturer before. Probably because she kinda talk behind my back for no apparent reasons, and it got to some point that she said things like, "I heard that you.."  this and that, which I have no idea where the she heard of it but its kinda awkward and private.
Do you know that she said that she couldn't believe that I slept at home and didn't come to class because I was sick? I asked her back that, what did she expect I would be doing if I was sick? Going to play football? Duh.. not to mention I did had the MCs, and she said its inadequate proof. MCs literally means Medical Certificate. Its a f***king CERTIFICATES!
Haha.
I learned it later that this particular lecturer LOVES gossiping about the students. And it didn't surprised me to hear that many students weren't actually favoring this lecturer.

I really don't know what to do, it is a very bad thing to do.. pointing up fingers to blame others. Usually, I just accepted the nature of other people, not like I could help it. But then again, I had tried my best. My very best, really.

All I wanted to do is having a normal, quiet life. Of course we can not shut other people mouth from talking about us. But it shouldn't be that way. I'd say, this means lack of professionalism, and integrity.

So called, lights of the life candles burned themselves up for the good of others, this one burned up every good things and pretty much everything around it.
What goes around comes around, and I'd hoped she got exactly what she deserved. Nothing less from it.

This time I'm gonna make it all work out, all by myself if I must.

This is what we define as LIFE.

Tiring Weeks

Should I say tiring, or trying week. It had been a tiring weeks, but the weeks also had been a trying times.
The thing is that, all these 2 weeks is full with a lot of.. things. Presentations, quizzes, and tests..
I got more on the next week on presentations and it not gonna be easy. I need to get some my facts straighten up, my scores keeping on and my pride swallowed in.

Did I forgot to mention about homework? Yeah, there are a lot but I'll work them out.
But the quizzes and tests that are killing me. I'd done the Company Law test and it was the only one test for the assessment points exclude the final test. I didn't think I screwed in that test but I could never be sure because, for a supposed 5 pages of answer sheet I answered for only 2 pages. Must be because of my small hand-writings.. must be.

Then on this Thursday, I got Arabic quizzes, 1 and 2. It supposed to be easy, so people said. But I couldn't even speak a word of it. I'm busting my ass right now trying to learn the words and the sentences of Arabic language as I'm writing this blog. I'd really hoped I could pull this through, otherwise I'll let down everyone that cared for me and myself.

All I need, is a bit of encouragement. A flare up, here and there perhaps. I'm tired of, resting myself, with so called reasons of 'recharging' my so called 'batteries' with a lot of sleeps.. and naps too. I've seen a friend whose slept only for 2 hours a day and he still looking good and sharp, except for the black ring on his eyes of course.. that a sign of inadequate sleep.

Bottom line is that,
I NEED TO WORK OUT!
Move the ass and crack some ribs, I'd say.
Happy fighting everyone.
Games: Men of War - Red Tide

Games: Men of War - Red Tide

When I run out to find update for the game Men of War, I found out that an expansion was out called Red Tide. I google'ed a abit about this game, I found a lot of people comment that this game is a farce. I.. really wish to differ because the first game was quite good. The only bad thing about this game that could agree with the gamers out there is that, Yes! this game have a very bad voice acting. The baddest voice acting I've ever heard in a game, yet.

In this new expansion, it features some new units, new maps and new people. Like usual. Hehe.
But what so special about this game? Well, in this expansion the storyline would be focusing more on the Soviet, like the title suggested it, really. Specifically, this game focusing on the story of the Soviet Black Sea Fleet, confronting Romanian and German Army. Its all about taking back Sevastopol, sabotaging the enemy defenses, harassing the enemy supply line, recon and stealing information and of course getting the fleet near coast to pummel the enemy with battleships.

Another thing that this game features is new types of tanks from both side, Soviet and German. I haven't seen any heavy tanks but there a lot of light and cool tanks. Some of this light tank actually can traverse across bodies of water. Well, I guess this is what this expansion wanted to introduce, water type unit.

As you can see in the screenshot, most of this new units are light or medium tank. Some of them are only equipped with machine gun turret. This is probably what we called infantry tank, where a tank is used to fight against infantry at large. But its cool, because fast and infantry-killing tank is not something to look down with. So far in this game, the largest caliber gun mounted tank I'd ever ride is 73mm tank. And that is really hard to come by. The campaign in this expansion is focusing mostly on small battle. Or should I say stealh. There are a few mission where you get to be in large battle but still you controlling a few squads and tanks where the rest is controlled by AI. I'm not saying its bad, it really good actually. Instead of micromanaging the entire regiment, you are given a few squads to help the regiment to push through the enemy line of defense. So you could savor the thrill of crawling behind enemy emplacement and surprises them while the regiment make their big entry. Hehe

Did I mention about the water type units, yes I did. In a few missions you get to ride on some boat, rubber boat or motorboat. But as the battle gets more bigger and intense, you will provided with attack boat such as this M40 gunboat. Its inadequate to bombard the coast leave alone to harass enemy emplacement. But still, it could give some covering fire on the coast and AA defenses. Any enemy's tank or infantry squad wandering into its range will get ripped apart with its 73mm artillery guns and mounted heavy machine guns. Just be careful of enemy's coastal batteries though, ha.

But whats the point of calling it the Black Sea Fleet without the fleet big guns. Haa, am I right? Am I right?? I didn't get the ships name, I think it could be a cruiser, but with a lot of guns on board, I'd say its a battleship. It just that the size doesn't look right. Anyway, it got really big guns on there. 180mm artillery naval gun, that what I'm talking about. But you don't get to control the ship. The ship becomes your some kind of reinforcement where you can choose to shoot the 180mm artillery naval guns on enemy positions by clicking the reinforcement button on the below right side of the screen. The naval guns itself shoot a direct fire so.. some buildings might get in your way.

Another unit being introduced is the armored train. Trains with a lot of infantry it carries with along with some AA guns and 88mm artillery gun. The train is a good weapon platform but because its immovable, its kinda useless when the regiment is making their push deeper into the enemy territories. But its a good fallback point though, when things got tough you could just retreat bact to the train.

The game also make a lot of appearance for air unit, the airplanes. I didn't get to the point where you can ride one, but I'm pretty sure the game would never let you. Because the airplanes in this game is kinda hard to control if you look at it. And they fly kinda at low attitude. The downside of this air battle is that the AA guns ALWAYS miss the plane. Well, not missing the shot when taking the plane down, but miss the sight of the plane. There were a lot of occasions where when I got to control the AA guns, the planes would just fly over my emplacement or even bombed it to smithereens without the guns bearing on the planes. I had to manually click on the target so that the AA guns start bearing and shooting. Duh..

And yeah, before I forgot, there is a part in those many missions, you get to face the super-heavy 600mm Morser Karl mortar which I doubt you'll get to ride one. In my game, there were always infantries operating it, and I couldn't get them out aside from destroying the mortar itself. Its a bummer.
The missions in this game really throw a lot of fun stuff. I couldn't get it of my attention but there a lot of artillery pieces out there. There is some point where you have to take a village from the German 11th Army, you'll get to face with infantry assault gun. This is one of my favorite guns. Its a small piece of artillery with indirect fire and works like a mortar with a slight longer range. The best part is that this gun pack a punch with its accuracy, compared to a mortar. There is also 15cm howitzer that the German uses but it take quite a loading time. So, I like the infantry assault gun more. Hehe

Anyway, that's all it. I, in my personal opinion, really don't think this game is a farce. Well yeah, the voice acting was crap, but the gameplay might had just improved a bit. No longer you have to control a large amount of units but instead you get to control a handful of units and still gets the big fight. I mean, with the soldiers and tanks streaming again and again like a tide against the enemy impregnable defenses, and its up to you to infiltrate, do some sabotaging and get the enemy crippled. There nothing more fun than stealing the enemy big guns and bearing it down against them. Really. :P

Happy Playing!

BEL492 Presentation 2nd part

I should've post this about last week. Right after my first presentation.
Well, I didn't have the time because last week my time was filled with alot of things. Plus I got lots of things in mind. Hehe

As I posted earlier, the topic I chose was 'The Impact of Euthanasia on the society'. The topic is kinda a bit loose because its not just about medical terminology on suicide. There are more about in this topic, in social science, cultural studies and even related to medical law.

But mostly this topic is debated on the basis of public opinion. As I  present the topic to my classmates, I mentioned to them that Euthanasia comes from a Greek word called, "good death". In modern medicine, the terminology is known as "assisted suicide" or "legal murder".
The reason for this words, is that euthanasia literally meant that doctors could end their patients life for greater reason. But of course the doctor wouldn't make the decision alone. Usually the doctor will consult with that patient's relative or closest kin. Unless of course the patient is a homeless guy with no medical insurance. Haha, I'm just kidding. If you were the homeless guy with no medical insurance, you wouldn't be admitted to the hospital in the first place anyway. Not if there is any government hospital around.

Too bad I didn't take any pictures during the class. Duh...
By the time I finished my presentation, I sit down and realized, "Man, I should've taken a picture of myself.". I mean, I was wearing my cool blazer that matches my pants. Haha
So I took it AFTER I went home. Sad huh..
But someone wanted to see me in the outfit, so.. here it is. Hehe

Back to the presentation, I make quite a bare and plain presentation. Mostly because the topic itself is lack of graphical presentation. I mean, should I show a picture of a doctor asking a patient to end their life buy cutting them open, or a patient asking a doctor to inject some lethal dose of drug in his vein?

The presentation have a time limit of 5 minute and if there was even a video about how euthanasia was executed, it would take more than 3 minutes. So I just went along with introducing myself, my personal details but not that detailed, and I went straight to the definition and what is that makes up the word Euthanasia.

I finished the presentation in time, but I hoped to do better next time. My next presentation is  probably next week, I really not sure. I heard the turns will be rotated, this time the last presenter would present their topic first. I sure hope so. Hehe
