Controversial Commercial!

I got this from a friend in the Facebook. He posted a link of a Youtube video, a TV commercial that was recently pulled out from one of the local TV station in Malaysia, the 8TV. It caused a public outrage, because the commercial, although a Public Service Announcement (PSA) ads, seems to be racist.

For me, I think the ads was not only racist, but also offensive toward Muslims as well. Because the ads seems to portrays the Muslim community in Malaysia to be too conservative and too uptight. The content of the ads show a non-muslim chinese woman who act inappropriately in Ramadhan Bazaar. The ads then end with moral lessons, such as the do's and the don't.

Although the ads have been pulled out, but many people believe that the damage have been done. If you look for the video in Youtube (assuming it have not been removed yet) you can see many people respond with racist and political remarks. You can see people blaming UMNO (because UMNO own Media Prima own 8TV), some blaming the Malay supremacist for concocting this ads, and others just simply said that 'This is Malaysia'.

WELL, THEY ALL WRONG!!

This is not some kind of government conspiracy theory or racist attempt, this is what we called IGNORANCE. It is obvious the the media team (Media Prima CEO said it was multi-racial team) have little or none at all understanding regarding on Islamic belief and any other religious belief. Probably the whole team was made up from a bunch of Atheist.

Ramadhan is a holy month to Muslims, period. What does it got to do with the non-muslims? Haven't we learned from the mistakes from the last Eid? Remember another ads that was made by a 'genius' who combine both Hari Raya and Gong Xi Fa Chai and turned it into Gong Xi Raya? What about the other time where Deepavali was crossed with Hari Raya and turned into DeepaRaya?

Malaysia is a multicultural country, not a multi-combined-religion country.

The Chaser's War on Everything

Have you watched an Australian satirical comedy broadcast called 'The Chasers'? Not the movie with same name, but a TV series broadcast by ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation). If you like to watch black satirical comedy such as South Park cartoon series, then The Chasers is definitely will fit in your next to see in the list, you if haven't seen yet.

The series was starred by Chas Licciardello, Andrew Hansen, Julian Morrow, Chris Taylor, Craig Reucassel, and Charles Firth. The series was first aired on 17th Feb '06 and sadly ended on 29th July '09. They had a great run, created 58 episodes in 3 seasons.

The content of the series was mainly on Australia current issues and of course most of its jokes was intended to the Australian audiences, but because Australia is one of the biggest multicultural country, so the jokes get to everyone. Yep, no one escapes from their satirical jokes. In fact, most of its segments concentrate on Australian political issues and government policies. They hassle not only politicians and cabinet ministers, but also their own Prime Minister. Which the segments itself was a joke, because The Chasers was broadcast by the ABC, in other word their show was funded by the Australian government.

Other segments also include about other TV channels' current affair programme such as Channel 9's A Current Affair and Channel 7's Today Tonight where the Chasers criticize and making fun on the programmes' sensationalism. This is one of my favourite. It was hilarious, its like a new level of trolling.

When the series was made they have a few names suggested. Some of it were too normal like 'The Chaser is Right' and 'Hey hey, its the Chaser', while some were pushing it abit far like 'The Age of Terror Variety Hour' and 'Thank Allah its Friday'. Finally they settle it with the name 'The Chaser's War on Everything'.

Believe it or not, this show was not without controversial issues such as going to far in their jokes and stunts. One of it was their APEC pranks where they tried to circumvent the APEC security (which they almost did) and commented on George Bush's treatment to APEC importance (this guy called APEC as 'OPEC' in his speech). They were caught, along with the TV crews, but later the charges were dropped because the fault on the police for giving them to enter restricted area in the first place. The Chaser's comment, it seems the police wouldn't bother to check your identity if you could produce something similar to the security card or clearance card.

How could the police missed this, I have no idea..

There are more in this shows, but I don't think could write it all down. Enough to say that this show is really awesome and hilarious. Although the Chasers did alot of dangerous stunts and some even offensives to other people, but I think this comedy show actually covers more real current issue than other current issue programme out there. Well, mostly current issue in Australia.. but still! This show provide critical criticism towards the government and voicing out the real need of Australian people. I'm not saying always criticising is good, but that IS the reason why you have the opposition party in Democracy, right?

Too bad the show ended in 29th July '09, and I have no idea if they ever continued the production ever again. You can watch their video online in:

Tiger vs Lion

Ok, we all know the match result between Malaysian football team 'Harimau Malaya' against Singaporean football team 'Singa Pura' . And it was not good, for Malaysians.

The results for the match on 28th, last Thursday end up in tie, 1-1. Malaysia however failed to advance for the World Cup 2014 third round qualifying match based on their aggregate score. This is probably due to 'Harimau Malaya' crushing defeat earlier where they were beaten with the score of 3-5 by the Singapore on 23rd, last Saturday.

Well, seems Malaysian team give it all in the match. And the support from the football fans was enormous, I heard the tickets was sold out because I myself was unable to procure one. Hurm..

But not to worry. Where Malaysia have failed in football, we excel in something else. Like making a delicious local food. Yes, in my previous post I wrote about one of Malaysian dish, Penang Assam Laksa, was ranked 7th in the World Most Delicious Food. It was a non-issue with the Singaporean.. until!! They commented about it..

Big Storm in Port Dickson

People currently are shocked with the news of bullet train accident happened in China last week. From the news, the accident was said due to power outages caused by electrical storm where one of the train was struck by a lightning causing stoppage and later was rammed by another train.
Wow.. pretty horrific news given that the casualties count were 39 killed while 12 victims were in critical condition.

But do you know, today, as in 30th July in Saturday, Port Dickson was hit by another storm. Well, not another electrical storm, but a storm regardless. No casualties count, but the property damage did makes people to be thankful that no one was killed. Look at the picture below, and tell me that no one was sent flying by the storm.

Nope! I hope not. Just tree trunks and road sign blown by the strong winds, hitting the parked cars on the side road. This have yet to be reported in the mainstream news, and I'm not sure whether is anyone injured by the storm. Hopefully not. I'm pretty sure there was no one in that car, when it was wrecked by that giant tree trunk.

My sympathy to the car owners, and hopes no one was injured in the incident.

CNN International Food Survey ranked Penang Assam Laksa to be 7th most delicious food in the world. From the top 50 list of world's most delicious food, Penang Assam Laksa ends up on the 7th place, while the first place was taken by Massaman curry from Thailand.

Penang Assam Laksa or simply known by locals as 'Laksa Penang'. Its not only delicious and rich with flavour, but also healthy. Its rich with the use of fish stock and meats, and also dried tamarind skin (asam gelugor), which is good for those who want to lose weight.

Sweet, sour and minty! Yum!

Yeah, Laksa Penang is much more delicious if you put mint leaves and small slices of pineapples. It adds up to its tastiness.

Book: Warhammer 40k - The Horus Heresy Part 7

Another 2 books from the Horus Heresy. This time I pick 2 books that compliment each other. Its not like the sixth and eleventh book which revolves around the same Legion, the Dark Angels. But it more about the enmity between the 2 infamous Legions, the Space Wolves and the Thousand Sons. One of the famous event that happened during the Horus Heresy, the Burning of Prospero. Its the story between the 2 loyal Legions, but locked in battle because of their long animosity that later used by the traitors.

Ok, so I don't know which one started first, but I'm pretty much sure that the timeline here is parallel. So lets go to the twelfth book in the Horus Heresy series, A Thousand Sons. This book explain much of inside of the Thousand Sons Legion, and it illuminate much of the cause the Legion downfall. Now, how do I even begin..

First, the story in the novel took place on a planet called Aghoru. The Thousand Sons stopped there to inspect a mountain, too monumental to be a natural formation. The fact that the people living on the planet was a bit primitive, the mountain looks like man-made but not by the natives. It prompt the Thousand Sons Legion to anchor there as they also felt the presence of unworldly energy there. It was also personally inspected by the Thousand Sons primach, Magnus the Red. Magnus then discovered something that would help the Imperium warp travel greatly there. Then, the Thousand Sons were interrupted by a call for assistance by the Space Wolves Legion.

The Space Wolves Legion disfavour the Thousand Sons conduct of war. They tend to, 'secure' depositories of knowledge of whatever planet they fall upon instead of focusing on the conflict at hand. At the planet Shrike, they went straight to the Avenians libraries instead of fighting the enemies and this angered the Great Wolf, Leman Rus, greatly. Both of the primarches almost come to blows but was immediately stopped by Lorgar, primarch of the Word Bearer Legion. They then parted with much disdain.. The thing is that, the Thousand Sons indeed practice sorceries. They have this practice called Enumeration, some kind of litany to boost their power. And they use Tutelary, some kind warp denizens to channel their psychic power.

Then the event of the Emperor retiring from the Crusade at the planet Ullanor took place, and the Thousand Sons heard words that psykers are about to be censured completely by the Imperium. Magnus pays no heed, instead went on to meet the Emperor to share his discovery on planet Aghoru. To his suprise, the Emperor casually told him that he already knew about it, the Eldar Webway. And the Emperor already started the work on the secrets of the Eldar Webway decades before the discoveries made by Magnus.

Right after that, the event of Council Nikea took place, where the Emperor decreed the censure againt sorcery, or usage of psykers. This hurts Magnus pride as his Legion are compromised almost all by psykers. He however accept the censure with bitter taste.. One thing leads to another, and Magnus was tempted to prove his worth, his Legion's worth by showing that sorcery could benefit the humanity. He however made a mistake by barging into the Emperor's lab by means of magick, and causes untold damage.. especially on the Golden Throne project.

Apparently, the Golden Throne was meant for Magnus and his Legion. Some sort of Akashic Reader and psychic amplifier, the device would help Magnus to amplify his power and allow him to tap into the Immaterium, allowing him access to whatever lore or knowledge that he ever wanted. But now, it was all in ruins and Magnus was made clear of his error.. It was after this even that the Space Wolves Legion was dispatched to apprehend Magnus, but Leman Rus was misdirected by the now traitor Horus, not to apprehend but destroy Magnus and his Legion. All of this later leads to the Burning of Prospero.

Then, we shifted to the story from the side of the Wolf King, the Great Wolf Leman Russ. Honestly, I think the fifteenth novel from the Horus Heresy, Prospero Burns, is a bit disappointment. Because although the book cover shows the picture of Leman Russ with his Space Wolves Legion on planet Prospero doing 'murder-make', there are little story about the carnage during the battle.

The novel begins with a story of a remembrancer, Kasper Hawser. He went to Fenris, homeworld of the Space Wolves Legion, and was shot down.. by accident. Apparently the Space Wolves doesn't take kindly with strangers. He was then was nursed back to health.. with his left eye removed. This is the part where some of the characteristic of the Space Wolves Legion differ from the 41st century Chapter. It seems that the Space Wolves Legion do not keep recording devices around their Legion proximity. Instead, they use skajld, a story reteller whom they pick with the best memory and ability to recount back all the stories that have been told. Skaljd still exist during the 41st century but they already incorporated recording device whether using bionic eyes or brain implant.

The novel also heavily based on the point of view of Kasper Hawser, instead of Leman Russ or any other person in the Space Wolves Legion. So.. There is not much to anyway. Almost half of the book told the story of Kasper Hawser, his encounter with the Space Wolves Legion and their primarch.. and basically is all that. Kasper Hawser was present when the Burning of Prospero happened. And perhaps he was the only with the exception of Bjorn the Fell-Handed that still the saga of the Burning of Prospero. Because in the end. Kasper Hawser was put into long sleeps.. dreaming the same dream in the dark.

And that is all about this 2 books. Too bad the book on the Space Wolves wasn't centred around Leman Russ because I would love to read a story where the author could expand his personality. But in the end.. most of the Loyalist primarches character remained shrouded.

My Youtube celebrities, Internet meme, whatever..

Last night I was surfing the Youtube videos and it reminds me of the old times.. It have been for how long since Youtube have become as today, I dunno. But one thing for sure is that Youtube have become one of many prominent tools to jump-start an individual or a group popularity. Celebrities and artist also use Youtube as a platform to spread and expose their creative artwork and musics. This is also being use by ordinary people that wish to share their creative side.

I remember the very first Youtube celebrities that I came across in the net. Nigahiga, or his real name is Ryan Higa, first emerged when he started to post videos of him lips-syncing songs. One of his famous videos that I liked was a video that he made specially for haters out there. It was kinda funny as he saying a good soothing words to the haters, making gestures of peace and love, while the subtitles below written, 'Go fuck yourselves, hater!'. Simply, EPIC!

Next, I found out about Numa Numa or the NewNuma. His real name is Gary Brolsma, and he famous for lip-syncing a song called Dragostea Din Tei by a boy band named the O-Zone. The word Numa comes from the song's lyric which means 'not me'. He famous not only for lip-syncing but also literally created the Numa Numa dance. NICE!

Then, there is TayZonday, or his real name is Adam Nyerere Bahner. He famous for his song video called the 'Chocolate Rain' and he have an amazing voice. What I mean by amazing is that he have a deep, recognizable voice. Hearing him singing is like hearing Van Diesel singing, except with tunes. His most famous act in the video, is the part 'he moves his mouth away from the mike to breathe'. The act alone triggers multiple responds and parody videos made by others whether to mock him or just trolling around. The rest of the video? COOL SONGS.

Now.. who else is famous in Youtube.. From the first 3 person that I just mentioned, they are all guys. Then what about the ladies. I don't want to sound sexist, but most of the ladies that created a video channel in the Youtube got famous because of either their 'bewbage', or their cute face while confessing that they like all the geek stuff. Prime example? Have you seen iJustine channels?

iJustine, or her real name is Justine Ezarik, famous for her '300 pages iPhone bill'. And... the rest is 'bewbage'. I've browsed all of her other channel and... the rest is 'bewbage'. There is one of her channel called ijustinegaming, and there are alot of viewers there but I was disappointed. The content? No 'bewbage' but there are sexy voices. Once I watched one of her game review video and in the end I have no idea whether she was reviewing the game or complaining about her broken nails.. F4iL3D!

Ok, another prime example? How about this one, have you ever watched a channel made by MissHannahMinx? If you say no that can only means 2 things, whether you're gay or you're just a jealous flat-breasted hag. I'm just saying.. MissHannahMinx or her real name is Hannah Minx, is famous for making videos explaining about Japanese words and culture and.. her awesome 'bewbage'. I really love bew.. learning Japanese, but somehow I find it hard to learn while all my blood goes to my boner. Did I just use the the word hard and boner in the same sentence? THAT is how awesome her 'bewbage' is. Oh, her video content? I dunno.. I can't keep my eyes off that.. Is 'bewbage' considered minxy? 3P1C F4iL3D!

Well, ok maybe not all the ladies channel are all about 'bewbage'. There are.. some exception for example like, have you met Meekakitty? Her real name is Tessa Violet, and I have no idea why she is famous. People said it was because of her humorous fast cut videos, but I think it was because of her being cute and ginger. Her racks doesn't stack but the adorable facials that she made in her video gives out some credit. I stumbled into her channel only by chance, recommended by another comedian, RWJ. Simply, N() B3WB4G3!

[Tutorial] How to bypass broadband limit

As we all now.. most ISP provider nowadays have put a limit for broadband bandwidth onto their customer. The most obvious one is Celcom Broadband. Because.. they send a message saying that they going to do so. And not just that. The subsequent offer for sales that comes later started to show a table of limitation or restriction for user to download/upload per month.

This is actually not a new issue. It have been around since last year. It just that.. now I'm feeling like sharing a tutorial. Haha.

For a product that you spends money on, it is a bad idea to be restricted on its usage. Especially when you need an unlimited access to it. Customers usually complains that if the new restriction are to be imposed, why not reduce the subscription prices? For those who feel cheated and treated unfairly, you don't have to worry. There is a sinister but yet a simple way to breach the broadband limit imposed by the ISP provider. With that being said, be warned. Do this on your own risk..

[Tutorial] How to set DNS for USB modem

USB modem is synonym with HSPA (High-Speed Packet Acces) modem or HSDPA (High-Speed Download Packet Access). Ever since the DNS blockade imposed by the SKMM/ MCMC, there have been increase number of questions and request regarding on tutorial or tips on how to bypass the blockade by means of setting up a DNS server.

So here what I'm going do is, I will list out the steps GENERALLY on how to set up the DNS setting. Because different manufacturer of USB modem will use different interface program such as Mobile Connect, Mobile Partner, Vodafone and whatnot.. so I couldn't get all of the screenshot for the all of the software. But what I can do is that.. I'm can provide a simple guide with screenshots that reflects the most likely setting so you could get the idea on how to set up your own DNS settings..

KTMB: traffic congestion solution in Malaysia.

Yeah.. right.. What is KTMB? KTMB stands for Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad. Its the main rail operator in Peninsular of Malaysia. It was privatized in 1992, but remain wholly-owned by the government. The main hub of KTMB is situated in KL Sentral.

One of the KTMB branches is the KTM Komuter services. The KTM provide services of 248 commuter and serving 45 stations daily, along 175 route-kilometres. Apparently, the KTM boasted that the commuter trains run at 15 minutes frequency during peak hours and 20 minutes frequency during off-peak hours. We'll see about that.

The main purpose of KTM Komuter is to provide an efficient public transport for those who work or travelling to Kuala Lumpur. Anyone who have been to Kuala Lumpur would know that KL is a city that 'never finished up'. Everyday, day by day, its whether a new road is constructed or the old road is under construction. The traffic in the city is hell. Congested especially during peak hours. KTM Komuter then was introduced to cater commuters in Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding suburban areas. This would encourage people to use public transports instead of driving their own vehicle into the city and putting more strain to the congested traffic.

But, to me.. From what I saw and experienced, KTM Komuter have created a new kind of congested traffic. Its no longer on the road, but on the railway. Well, not ON the railway, but in the train station. The number of commuters increased every years, but each year, the KTM Komuter failed to increase their train capacity. Even the specially provided women's coach are not enough for the women.

Not only that, KTM Komuter is far from being punctual. In normal hours, a problem like a broken down train seems not a big issue, because other train would replace it and the commuters can spend time waiting. But during the peak hours, a single broken train means more than 2-3 hours late. And its not just the train that being the issue here, but the commuters too. With so many commuters rushing to go home or somewhere, it wouldn't possible for the train to pick them up in one go..

KTM Komuter currently is the most profitable passenger service offered by KTMB.. Why can't they increase the number of the train coach? Increase the level of maintenance to reduce the untimely train breakdown? The number of people is increasing every year.. Do the math..

How long does a trip takes from KL to anywhere? By car..

The trip between Malacca and Kuala Lumpur by car takes 1 hour and 15 minutes. And that is 144 KM distance.
I took a commuter every once a week, and it took me more than 2 hours to arrive in KL from Seremban. And the distance between Seremban and Kuala Lumpur is 64 KM...

Everyone wonders why KL always have congested traffic. Because it doesn't matter... One way or another. You will get stuck getting in.. or out.

Kira Ayn Varszegi and breast-brush painting

I was surfing the internet the other day.. and I stumbled into this accidentally.
I know, you guys probably thinking that I was looking for PORN at that time. Actually I did not.. Seriously! I was looking for an article, tips, or anything, about keeping a tortoise as a pet. I found Kira's video in the Youtube.com where she shows how she trained her pet tortoise to stands up and kiss her. It was a cool video.. though I doubt the tortoise was actually trying to kiss her.. More like the tortoise is going to snap her lips..

Anyway, one thing leads to another.. I ended up in her website which is called Turtle Kiss. Now you know that I'm really telling you the truth. I WAS looking for info about pet tortoise. There is a tortoise her website. She named him Koopa. Wait.. what is the difference between turtle and tortoise?

Nevermind that. Anyway she used her turtle before for her painting before she go for breast painting. Nope, not painting her breast.. its not body painting. But she use her breast to paint on a canvas. Sounds weird at first but, we all should know this by now. Most if not all artists are eccentric but creative nonetheless.

I spend some time looking at the paintings and to tell the truth, it was kinda beautiful. You can see more in her website at Turtle Kiss and be prepared to be amaze. Some of her painting was really phenomenal. She also have listed her collections of painting in her Ebay's store.

I wonder if I could use my terrapin for painting.. or train him to paint for me.

[Tutorial] Bypass MCMC/ SKMM Blockade using DNSJumper

You probably felt sick with this topic already, but what can we do? Currently this topic is hotly being discussed across the internet and have taken a huge coverage by the media. RIM (Recording Industry Association of Malaysia) have been making statements with a lot of local newspapers to justify their reasons of pushing the Act that leads to country wide internet censorship.

I'm not going to indulge further more into the issue, because you know.. whatever reasons given by the RIM, it still full shit anyway. All I can say is that even if they took the examples of other country such as Belgium, France and Italy with their internet censorship, they did it because they wanted to block PORN sites. Apparently for other countries, they consider child pornography is much more important issues to handle than file hosting..

Anyway, yes.. there is a software to help users especially in Malaysia to bypass the stupid blockade by the MCMC. I'm sorry for not including it earlier in tutorial of bypassing the MCMC blockade, but its no one loss anyway. At least you get to know the inner working of your internet connection. Just in case the MCMC tries something funny in the future..

The software is called DNSJumper, and it will help you to change you DNS setting with just a click, or several clicks, of buttons.

Its really simple. First you need to choose your network card. Remember, if you are using USB based Modem, you need to choose that. Not your ethernet Local Area Network Card.

Then click on the 'Fastest DNS' button and let the software ping all the DNS servers and it will automatically. Just wait for it to finish.

Finally you can click on the ' Apply DNS Servers' button and... That is it. You can close the application and enjoy you internet surfing. Good luck!

Utusan Malaysia Insensitivity

Utusan Malaysia is a local newspaper in Malaysia. Its a newspaper in Bahasa Malaysia. In case some of you didn't know, Malaysia have a lot of local newspapers in different languages. Before this, Utusan Malaysia is one of the Malaysian top news provider. But recently, Utusan Malaysia becoming more and more insensitive. Its not just the Utusan, but other newspaper too. Apparently with the Malaysian campaign of '1Malaysia' being promoted all across the country, its seem some of the people just didn't get the memo..

Now, what did Utusan Malaysia have done now? Before we get to that, let us see what other local newspaper have done

Berita Harian being insensitive towards Japan's tsunami issues.

What the cartoonist wish to portray here is that, when the earthquake and tsunami hits Japan, not even their superhero can help. Yeah.. very funny. Its a natural disaster, not a fucking terrorist attack! How could you even joke about that. People died you know! And Japan was not the only country that was affected. Usually the cartoon slot here used to portray the irony in the world issue, but as you can see, the irony here is the editor's stupidity.

But that was in the past. Berita Harian later apologized and everything was forgiven and forgotten.

Utusan Malaysia makes the same mistake.

What the cartoonist wish to portray here, is that in Islam, rape cases need 4 witnesses and video recording is not applicable. He also want to show that conventional method is much more practical compared to Islamic methods.

First of all, there is a huge gulf between rape and adultery. And that gulf is your fucking brain! Rape is not the same as adultery.

Rape is tantamount to a physical assault while adultery is tantamount to accusation and defamation.

Whoever draw this have little knowledge or none about Islam and obviously are using is for political issues. This is not how Islam deals with rape, in fact, in Islam, the women are allowed to bring any hard evidences to prove her accusation toward the rapist. If she could bring another 4 witnesses, that would be a bonus and the rapist probably died horribly if not painfully. The hard evidences could be any mark on her body, recording if there any, in fact, she could use a semen sample. Yes, with modern technology, all that is possible. And the witnesses could be the doctor who examine her, or any other individuals that might relate to the case.

The only difference between the Islamic law and conventional law in rape cases, is that in Islam, the rapist gets to die. In conventional law, the rapist gets to go to the jail and have 3 piece a meal a day and make shiv out of a toothbrush.

She shouted and he went off, and when a man came by, she said: That (man) did such and such to me. And when a company of the Emigrants came by, she said: That man did such and such to me. This can be done because the blockade is made based on DNS (Domain Name Server).

Malaysia is going to block File Hosting servers

The news is out there. Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) have decided to executed a multi-phase plan to block access to file hosting servers. The official letter regarding on this matter have already been released from last month, although it is not until this week that the file hosting servers were blocked.

Here is the list of addresses what MCMC would demand from the ISPs in Malaysia to block. Within this week, all the available ISPs in Malaysia including Streamyx, Maxis, Celcom, P1Max and more, already complied with the MCMC demand. They going to block the websites by phases, means a few websites at a time. Probably they wanted to asses the 'threat' posed by these websites..

So, to all my fellow Malaysians, don't be surprised if suddenly you are unable to access certain websites even the internet line is working perfectly.

Reasons Why being Romantic is Overrated

First, watch the video.

Some of you might cried, and smiles later, for the things that transpired in the video.

Yes, it have a very happy ending in there.

But lets get realistic here. There is no way, another guy could top this one.

This is, by far, the most romantic love that could only be happening in fairy tales and in your dreams.

But this guy made it happened.

Now why would I say that this kind of romantic love story is overrated?

There are several reasons:

#1. Its a calculated risk.

As you can see, more than half of people in there were hired to act. Imagine that in that very place, there was a single 'NICE' guy, not hired by anyone, decided to interfere and beat up your face because he thinks you really cheated on her. Sure, there are hired security guards to calm things down. But it will not stop another guy from being a 'knight in the shining armor' for the woman. I'm just saying, it would be a bummer if another guy gets to walk you woman back home while you still waiting the punchline to show her the ring that would never come to pass... So unless you already knew that no one except your actors would get into the foray, its a risk that you know worth taking.

#2. Its an expensive calculated risk.

Come on.. I don't think the proposal ring comes with those actors. You really need to hire those guys. And you can't pick your friends because your girlfriend would recognize them. To concoct a plan is one thing, but to execute them is a whole different matter. No only this guy have to pay the actors, but also for the dinner and not to forget, the ring! And the ceremony right afterward.. and so on.. Seriously if you'd ever pull this out, you probably will end up paying the whole shenanigans instead of you house mortgage! Regardless on whether you got the results that you want.. But then again, you knew the risk now don't you.

#3. It need to have an expected result.
No every woman react the same way. That guy probably knew that his girlfriend would wait until everything unfold just as he planned it all along. As we all know, not every women would just sit there crying, and wait things to be better. There are some that would just stands up, and walk away. Probably went home watching home videos and eating ice cream. But the again, you won't be pulling this off unless you know EXACTLY how your girlfriend would react. But on the side note, it does going looks like EPIC if however the woman in the video said 'No'. Epic Fail, that is..

#4. It need to have an expected long-term result.
I don't know about the guy in the video, but I know that you won't pull this off unless you really positive that your relationship going to last for a very long, long time. We has seen it all, those expensive, intricate and even exotic proposal and wedding plan. Like Prince William's wedding, popular actress/actor's wedding, or even underwater wedding. After all that, it would be a bummer if you get a divorce less than a year later. I don't know, probably you have made the most romantic gesture of them all and then you're unable to top it for next years of you life living together. Women could easily get bored you know. Next thing you know, you'll be living in your past, hoping that its enough. I'm just saying..

#5. Its a big bummer!
Lets face it. Even the old school romantic love is big bummer. Knight in a shining armor riding white horse while holding red roses? A guy riding a white horse is gay enough, let alone running around with red roses. It may look like a good idea now, but later.. well, it won't be later once you done it. I mean, do you really want the public to see you proposing like that, and they all attend you wedding.. after you acted like a jerk like that? Although it was only an act, but is that the only way that you could ever get a 'Yes'? Oh yeah, you just embarrassed yourself in public trying so hard and spending a fortune, just to get a woman to agree to marry you.

Seriously.. being romantic sometimes just overrated..

Adinda Evans or Nadia Elliza or Milano Monstaa, is not exactly a famous internet superstar. She is in fact, notorious. What did she do to gain such notoriety?

Well, nothing so bad.. but then why people keep on looking for her name in the net?

What she did, is the worst thing a teenager could have ever done.
Yup, this is even worst than what Rebecca Black did with her stupid song called 'Friday'.

For some reason, that only known to her.. she exposed the story to the internet world, that she lost her virginity at the age of 14. Yup, she wrote on her blog, and I believe in the facebook and twitter too, that she, is no longer a virgin.

You probably thought that, 'Hey, maybe she was raped, she's a victim!'. That what I thought until she said that she did it out of pleasure and her parent are OK with it.. Ok, that's a bummer..

Her blog are no longer exist, probably from constant harassing from religious surfers that tried to advise her on this matter and some possible pedobears that try to push their luck. I don't know, but I guess it was for the best.

Now, I'm not being judgmental and I'm not judging. I'm seriously not. In fact, I'm a bit worried.

First, what kind of parent that is OK with their child, and I'm not talking about a 30 years old 'child' that living in their own parent's basement, but a minor child, having sex?

Since when did that get out of the window?

Secondly, why would you publish publicly, that you had sex when you 14 years old? Your parent being OK with you having sex early age is one thing, but publishing about in the net? Are they still OK with that? Seriously? I thought only amateur pornstars did that, you know, for the ratings..

I'm worried, because apparently, this could happened to anyone. It could be our own sister, relative or friends.

This, is what happened when we didn't supervise our young.

This, is what happened when we want our young to mature so bad, they turned out bad instead of maturing.

This, is what happened when we abandon our own responsibilities and let our young astray..

Book: Warhammer 40k - The Horus Heresy Series Part 6

Another 2 books from the Horus Heresy series. I was kinda expected that the stories from the Horus Heresy series would revolves around the Emperor of Mankind and his primarches. But.. well, the Imperium is large, the galaxy is large.. the war frontier is large! So basically there are lot of stories that can be concocted from this incredibly huge theater!!

The eleventh book from the Horus Heresy, Fallen Angels! Nope, no.. this novel is not about the Blood Angels Legion. Although I was kinda hope so.I mean, when do we get to know how did Sanguinius get his wings?? Well, never mind. Ok, this book is the sequel for the Descent of Angels, the sixth novel in Horus Heresy series. Apparently, there are lot of things to show here.

The story in this book continues after what happened in the sixth book. Only this time, it features a lot more of their primarch, Lion El'jonson. After getting rid of Luther, Lion's own-once-sworn brother, Lion went on waging war for glory leaving those he displeased with back to Caliban. Well, according to the Warhammer 40k Lexicanum.. Lion El'jonson is the primarch of the Dark Angels Legion, also designated as the First Legion. But because he was found later during the crusade, it made him a bit younger compare to other Legion. Where.. he was suppose to be the older brother among the primarchs.

This kind of sticky situation however, prompt the Lion to aim.. to be the best. Apparently when the Warmaster Horus turned traitor, Lion casually state that, well at least there is a vacancy in the Warmaster post. And it seem he really aim for that, executing the war to gain supports from his other brothers so he would be voted to be the next Warmaster. This however, have not been going unnoticed.

Of course, not to forget.. Luther. The story also covers about the Dark Angels detachment on Caliban. Luther, felt betrayed and left behind, accumulate resentment towards the Lion. What transpired on the planet Caliban did not ease his resentment as he found out that some Terrans have come to Caliban to perform sorcery and sacrificing locals. This does not bode well, and Luther becomes more and more distrust toward the Imperium and the Lion himself, as.. the Lion knew that Caliban indeed tainted with warp powers..

Next is the thirteenth novel from the Horus Heresy series. This one is another book from the Horus Heresy that doesn't revolves around the Space Marines Legion. Nope, this time the story took turn on the events from the most mysterious branch of the Imperium, the Officio Assassinorum. Simply, the assassin guilds. I said guilds, because the branch compromises a few departments. There are 6 departments, and each are specialist on certain field.

This novel takes on the story where the High Lord of Terra become restless while waiting for the Warmaster Horus forces to arrive and attack Earth. Its logical to asssume that Horus WILL attack Earth because that is the centre of the Imperium. So long Earth remains on the hand of the Loyalist, people would think that Horus cause is a lost cause. While Rogal Dorn of the Imperial Fist Legion prepare the Earth fortifications, the Officio Assassinorum wished to end the Civil War with one strike. So they assemble all the most brightest agents from each departments, and formed a task force.

Now, in a twisted of an event, apparently from the forces of Horus, and assassin was also dispatched. It was not a task force, but a single entity, probably a warp creature.. that capable of assimilate with any victims, and completely lethal against psyker. The stronger the psyker, the more powerful the assassin would become. This assassin is simply know as the 'Black Pariah'. The Emperor himself, being the most powerful psyker in the galaxy, will definitely be kicked in the ass by this assassin, if they ever met each other. The agent fate, however, intertwined with the Imperial task force.

Both side clashes and bot side suffered total casualties. Meaning no one survived. Rogal Dorn later learn of this operations, quickly uncovered the Officio Assassinorum Grandmasters, and apprehend them for making the war even worse. This one, I could agree. Assassinating a key leader is not exactly going to end a war, entirely. In fact, it will only prolonged to the war to extended period. There would always be others to take the place of a leader. Only a direct confrontation, would solves the conflict between the two factions.

Well, that's all for now. Right now I reading up the latest Horus Heresy book called Age of Darkness.. Too bad I was actually looking forward for the Deliverance as the cover book have already been published..

Book: Warhammer 40k - The Horus Heresy Series Part 5

Right, another 2 books from the Horus Heresy Series. Whats next? Another story about the Imperial Space Marine Legions? Nope, it is not. This time the stories take a huge spin around the story of the Horus Heresy. Well, they still related anyway. Only this time.. Its about the events happening beside the Isstvan Massacre during the Heresy..

The eighth novel from the Horus Heresy Series, Battle for the Abyss, covers the story from a distance place away from the clashing Loyal Legion and Traitor Legion. In this story, another element of the Traitor moved against the Loyal Legion foothold.

What makes the story interesting was that the very element comes from Solar system itself. Yes, that is right. Battle for the Abyss is actually a story about the pursuit of a very large starship called, Furious Abyss. The ship was not only huge, but also equipped with the latest prototype weaponry such as plasma lance batteries and psionic charges. In other word, other Imperial ships doesn't have those. Furious Abyss was also one of it kind. Right after its construction was finished, the shipyard was destroyed thus leaving its existence in secrecy and its design template unknown to anyone.

Furious Abyss was not en-route to Isstvan system to provide help for the Traitor Legion. Instead, the ship was heading towards Ultramar, the realm of the Ultramarines Legion. Specifically, the ship was going for a planet named Calth, where the bulk of the Ultramarines Legion. Because the Ultramarines Legion did not participate in the battle of Isstvan system, prompting the Warmaster Horus to initiate the pre-emptive strike against the Ultramarines Legion. Because you know.. such as unmolested forces could be a pain in the ass when the Warmaster started to siege the Earth.

But no, apparently a ship that size couldn't just sail itself silently towards Calth now could it? A detachment of Ultramarines, World Eater, Space Wolves and Thousand Sons detected the ship, and went pursuing it. Because of these Space Marines detachment were away from their parents Legion, they have no idea what have already unraveled in the Isstvan system. So they pursue the ship, trying to figure out what this ship intended for its destination.. and could they stop the ship from unleashing the horrors it holds for the Ultramarines Legion?

Finally, I got my hand on this book. the Mechanicum, the ninth book in Horus Heresy Series. Now this book here cover a story a little bit closer to Earth, where war started to reach the Mars. Anyone who follows the Warhammer 40K universe would know that Mechanicus and the Imperium exist as an allied twin empires. Mechanicus agreed to be united with the Imperium but they still retained their sovereignty and independence.

Anyway, the books cover about the battle between sect of Mechanicus that loyal to the Imperium, and the Dark Mechanicus that pledge themselves to the Warmaster Horus. Mostly the story did not involves about the Space Marines but, in the end they kind of did. This is due to the reason that the Imperial Fists Legion was actually stationed on Earth to build a palace/ fortress for the Emperor. The Imperial Fists Legion even gave warning to the Mechanicus to quell the rebellion on their planet, or the Legion would do it for them!

I was interested with this novel because of several things. From the synopsis that I have read about this book, there several interesting points that were brought up. First was the Akashic Reader, a device that was invented by Adept Koriel Zeth, Mistress of the Magma City. Apparently, the device allows the user to tap into the Warp or Immaterium and access all the lost or hidden knowledges there. Another interesting point was the creation of Kaban Machine, an artificial intelligence that was supposed to be banned by the Imperium. The machine was created nonetheless and cause havoc across the planet. But the one that interest me the most, was the story about the Dragon of Mars. It is said that the Dragon of Mars are actually a xeno entity that excells in technology. The xeno is weak physically but whispers the promise of technological advancement to lure his followers. It is said that this xeno is the same entity that the Mechanicus are based on.

But, who knows.. I'm not gonna spoil the story. Just for the heads up, this book have the most action about the the Titans, the humongous war machines. In fact, it covers the stories on Titans against Titans when the Mechanicus clashed with their darker side.

Another 2 book from Horus Heresy Series. Yeah, I'm gonna write about 2 books at a time. You know, just kill time and improve my literature, grammar or something.

Descent of Angels is the sixth book in the Horus Heresy Series. At first, I thought the book cover the stories of the Blood Angels Legion. You know, because their primarch, Sanguinus, is also called 'the Angel' But, it appear that is not the case. This book covers the story of the Dark Angels Legion. I must say that this book provides the most in-depth story regarding on the Space Marine Legion origin. But, restricted on the Dark Angels Legion part only, of course.. It started, from the point where the Dark Angels's primarch was first found on a planet called Caliban.

This story is from the point of view of another character belong to the native of planet Caliban who later become member of the Dark Angels Legion. His name is Zahariel, and he was among the first who fought side by side with Lion El'Jonson, primarch of the Dark Angels Legion. Before the Imperium come in contact with Caliban, Lion initiates what was called the Great Hunt, to cleanse the planet Caliban from the infesting Great Beast that terrorize the planet. He creates a conclave called simple the Order and gather every knightly order on the planet under his banner. Zahariel was among them.

Lion El'Jonson, or simply called the Lion, was heavily characterize as quiet man with a terrifying intelligence. He was also a man with a high martial prowess as he once slain a Great Beast with his bare hand.. where other knights would have to do it in groups armed with pistols, swords and armored suits. He however is not alone, as the man who founded Lion, named Luther, raise him when he was first founded.

Nathaniel, being an aspirant and later elevated into full-fledged knight, continue to witness as the gap between the Lion and Luther becomes wider. Apparently, Lion doesn't like secrets, an irony where he himself is a secretive person. Lion holds the ideals of his father, the Emperor, where he though that some knowledge are not for lesser minds to know. Something that other people cannot appreciate.

And thats it. Whatt..?? What about the end? I dunno, I don't wanna spoil the story, although I think I just did a bit. Haha

Next one, Legion. This is the seventh book in the Horus Heresy Series. There is not much to tell about this book apart from the story is revolve around the youngest Legion of the Space Marines, the Alpha Legion. The Primarch is called Alpharius Omegon also known as the Last Primarch or the Last.

The book covers about the Alpha Legion and the time setting is about 2 years before the Horus Heresy. Yeah, this time the storis are going backwards. Differently from the Descent of Angels book, there are not much told about the early life of Alpharius. What the stories did tell, is the workings of the Alpha Legion. Because Alpha Legion was somehow newly created, their numbers are not as large as the other Legions. Thus they rely heavily on subterfuge and covert operation. Alpha Legion also use extensively non-Astarte personnel such as spies and human psykers.

Another event in the stories is Alpharius's encounter with a xenos conclave known as the Cabal. They tried to warn Alpharius about Horus about-to-be betrayal, and choices that Alpharius must made. But that is not important as the revealing of Alpha Legion inner structure. It seems that Alpharius Omegon was indeed a 2 person. One is Alpharius and the other is called Omegon. Alpharius was far more secretive than Lion El'jonson. In his Legion, every one is made to look alike as much as possible. Every captain and commander can simply assume the identity of Alpharius, and Alpharius can be anywhere inside the Legion.

Of course not everyone can imitate the Primarchs for they are much larger than normal Astarte. Omegon was the only person that stands almost the same as Alpharius, some even thought that they actually twins. Alpha Legion have extensive covert operations and intelligence network as being portrayed so in the book. Their secretiveness however, are not very much appreciated by Imperial commanders..

And, that it. 2 books from the Horus Heresy Series. I don't want to spoil too much on the book's content, but to anyone who enjoy the Warhammer 40k series, these books is a good read. I can vouch for that. Haha

Book: Warhammer 40k - The Horus Heresy Series Part 3

Its been a while since I wrote about the Horus Heresy, given my enthusiasm of collecting them. But I did manage to get the collection up to date. The latest book that I manage to get my hand on, is the book of A Thousand Sons. Yea-yea, I know that the latest publication of Horus Heresy in 2011 is the book of Prospero Burns. But what can I say, I got A Thousand Sons first after Prospero Burns... Anyway, before I get to those 2 latest books.. Here is some of the series that I have read.

Finally, I got myself on the first series of the Horus Heresy. Took me for a while.. From now on I'm gonna write about this series based on their release order.
Horus Rising is the first book of the Horus Heresy Series. As the tittle suggested it, this book is about the early part of the Horus Heresy, waaayyy before it began. The story takes place on the point of view from one of Horus's captain, called Garviel Loken. He was part of the Mournival, Horus's advisory council. Therefore.. He have the closest look on the changes happened on the Warmaster Horus and in the Luna Wolves Legion.

I'm not gonna spoil the detail on the book's story, but enough said that it explained a lot about the Luna Wolves Legion, provided that after the heresy, they become a Traitor Legion and then not much is known afterward. The book also revealed the Legion's experience when they encountered the False Emperor on planet Sixty-Three Nineteen and their first interaction with the Interex. Both of this encounters are important, well at least in my opinion, because they both were kinda technologically advanced compared to the Imperium.. given the fact that they both, are human faction, and they are about to get wiped out.

Also, this is the part where Horus started to lost his hold when the Emperor choose to retire from the Great Crusade and went back to Terra. Apparently he admired how the Emperor managed to.. you know unified the entire Earth and forge a solid alliance with Mars Mechanicum and Jupiter shipyards, without totally killing everyone. Horus wanted to do the same with the Interex but..

The Flight of the Eisenstein the fourth book in the Series. As you all could guess, they book here tells about something that can fly.. like.. I dunno, a starship?! Yeah, the Eisenstein is a Light Frigate that was attached to the 63rd Expeditionary Fleet by the Warmaster Horus. This time here, the book takes a point of view from another character named Nathaniel Garro, Battle-Captain of the 7th Company from the Death Guard Legion.

The story here is that Captain Garro was about to witness the Warmaster Horus betrayal. But little that he knows that he was included in that betrayal. The Warmaster knew that Garro is loyal to the Emperor, but sending him down to the planet would instill suspicion because supposedly he was kinda injured and unfit for battle. So he was assigned to that little frigate and get assassinated one way or another, because that frigate was to be rigged to explode. But Garro managed to foil the plan, and escaped with it. However, he did not escaped without damage. He was stranded in the warp until he was saved by the Imperial Fists Legion.

When that is not enough, Captain Garro tried to warn the Imperium of the Warmaster Horus betrayal, but only to get trashed by the Imperial Fists's primarch, Rogal Dorn. Enough to say that this book covers the story of Captain Garro onboard the Eisenstein. He in fact, face the first Plague Marines, and experienced first hand the prowess of a Marine turned Traitor. Plague Marines are so resilience they wouldn't even die in non-atmospheric area.

Well, that is all for now. These 2 books are not the only one I had finished reading. I would love to share more other stories.. But to tell the truth, there are just too much to tell. Seriously, the Warhammer 40k universe are huge.. and I, just couldn't get enough of them. I mean, stories involving a bolter and a chainsword? Its like reading Star Wars book but only gorier. Stormtroopers in Star Wars just scream like pussies when they got burned with a lasers, this one, people got sliced in halves.

Why did Lynas come to Malaysia?

Here is the headline, Lynas is going to build a chemical processing plant in Gebeng, Kuantan, Pahang in Malaysia. The sound of the news doesn't look significant in any way does it? Well, think again.

Someone with balls, finally steps up and make a confession video regarding on this matter. Before I get to that, let me enlighten you ignorant bastards out there what Lynas is.

Lynas is a huge mining corporation, that digs out rare earth. What is rare earth you asked? Seriously? Go google it! The corporation has made a plan to build up a processing plant in Kuantan, Pahang. No, they not gonna dig some rare earth ores over there, but what they would do is that, they going to process whatever ores they have in that plant. That doesn't sound harmful at all right? I mean, just imagine what they would provide to the local. Employments, and some revenue through government tax!

Well, again, THINK! This time, listen to this guy's opinion.

Here is the kicker. Why did Lynas, all of sudden, probably out of compassion and a bit of benevolence I guess, would provide all of that to Malaysia? Why not in Australia? Did I forget to mention Lynas is from Australia.. yes they are. So why? Because Australians have no unemployment problems and they don't need the jobs?

I don't think so! Apparently, the chief executive officer of Lynas, Nick Curtis, said that they wanted to build the plant in Malaysia because Malaysia have more chemicals, more electricity, more fresh water, and more skilled workers. What? What happened in Australia?

Did it turned into a ground zero??

I think the statement was a total BULLCRAP! You saying that there are not enough fresh water and skilled workers in Australia? I think we all know that the real reason why the plant is not gonna be built in Australia. The reason is simple:

They don't want that kind of plant!

Chemical processing plant is a dirty plant. They pump toxic wastes into the water and puff poisonous smokes.

And that is not the only reason! Another reason for Lynas to set up the dirty plant in Malaysia is because they got 12 years of tax exemption. 12 years, that's a whole lot of time there! In other word, Lynas is not gonna pay a single cent to government and people gonna trade wages with their own health!

I'm not going to turn this issue into another 'campaign of hatred' against the government. Because this is not what it is about. This is about corporate moral responsibility and ethic code of conduct!

They just, can't DO that!

We all remember what happened in Ukraine where the U.S dumps their nuclear wastes there..
We all remember what happened in Bukit Merah where thorium wastes were dumped there by Mitsubishi's plant..
And we definitely DON'T want to remember what happened in Gebeng 12 years later!!

I agree with Ryan Albrey, when he said that, THIS is the true issue that all Malaysians should address, instead of bickering among each other about someone else sex scandal or who is the next Malaysian top model. Seriously people!

If the people of Australia have the balls to deny the construction of this good-for-nothing dirty plant, then we Malaysians should do too! Screw their money, it can't buy happiness and health.

[Games] Dawn of War - Retribution

Perghhh... It have been how many days? Weeks maybe? I haven't wrote anything in here in a long.. long time. Been busy. That is all I could say. Regardless of my 'busyness', I still played games like usual.. I mean, there are games everywhere. in my PC, my hand phone, even in my wristwatch. I just couldn't get enough. Its where I got my inspirations, to do what.. ever it is I'm doing.

Ok, enough being melodramatic. Lets go to fun part.

For the past few weeks I've been.. letting off some steams by playing a Warhammer 40k game called the Dawn of War. Dawn of War is game made by Relic Entertainment and published by THQ. Yup, these game companies produces some of the best game of all year like the Company of Heroes and many of it sequels. Dawn of War have 2 expansion game, Chaos Rising and Retribution.

The game story is great. Well, which of the Warhammer 40k stories are bad anyway? The game story again revolves around the war on the sub-sector Aurelia. On the first game, a Space Marine chapter called Blood Raven have the sub-sector as their recruiting ground. The sector however was under attack by Orks and Eldars. Fighting off these xenos, suddenly another xenos jump into the fray and started to make fertilizers out of everybody, literally. The new xenos threat called the Tyranids, causes the Space Marine to scramble around to save whatever worth savings. The story goes on, added a few bits of the other factions point of view...

And finally reaches the part of the Retribution. The part after the Heroes of Aurelia were excommunicated and branded as renegades. Then, the Imperium of Mankind got fed-up with all this hassles and decided to blow everything to kingdom come. In other word, Exterminatus! This is the part where all 6 factions consist of the Imperial Guards, Space Marines, Orks Pirate, Eldar, Chaos Marines and Tyranid needs to do what must be done, before everything is lost!

Anyway.. I'm sorry for rambling too much and delve too much into the game story. I mean, anyone who didn't follow the Warhammer 40k universe wouldn't understand what with this Exterminatus or the Imperium of Mankind. Lets get back to the game.

Right, the game have included some new units and this time, player would be able to use superheavy vehicles. Nope, don't get your hopes too high. Its not a Titan, but superheavy tanks. For Space Marines there would be the Land Raider Redeemer, Imperial Guards have Baneblade tanks, and so on. Look and the screenshot and prepare to be awed.. Thats Baneblade for you. I know that most if not all, other RTS games have their own superheavy weapons... But this is Baneblade! Bristle with turrets, cannons and whatnot.. It just awesome.. In the earlier Warhammer 40k series like Dark Crusade and Soulstorm have this kind of vehicles, but can they bulldozed buildings? Well, this one can!

For gameplay, there isn't much to say. The fact that its practically the same as the early Dawn of War game. A few changes was made, of course. Units no longer level up till 30 and the skill points have been simplified. Instead of pouring skill points according to personal preference, this time the skill build is, a bit obvious. There are not much to choose from anyway. You'll understand when you play the game..

Then again, I must congratulate the Relic Entertainment for a new level of game repetition. I mean, wow.. 6 factions and all of them have almost identical stories. In fact, it was so identical, the only difference was the ending! This is like Soulstorm and Dark Crusade all over again!
The only thing that attracts me to try all of the factions, was because the cinematic was too awesome to be left unlocked. Kinda short, but satisfying..

I know I've mentioned this before.. but the game cinematic is way, and I mean really, way better the animated movie of the Ultramarines. I hope in the future they'll use the engines from the game to produce the animated movies..

All in all, the game is great. The gameplay is great way from the beginning. I mean, how is it not when its like playing the Company of Heroes, except its in the future and not all the participants are human.. But still, great graphic, great gameplay and awesome cinematic. What else do you want?

Rainy Day

Today something happened. It was raining. Yup, it was raining. On 14th March 2011, it was raining on the evening somewhere around 4 o'clock.

And guess what happened during the rain.. I received a SMS from my girlfriend saying that..

ITS FUCKING RAINING ACID OUT THERE!!!

I was like, whaaat? Get out of here.. Acid rain? Here? In Malaysia? Thunderstorm in Kuala Lumpur, yeah, but acid rain? I believe April Fool is about 2-3 weeks away, this ain't April Fool yet.

Along with the message were also some advises saying that..

Acid rain is dangerous, mmkay?

Acid rain can cause loss of hair and skin cancer, mmkay?

Haha, sounds serious.. But still kinda weird. Apparently the cause of it was said originated from the nuclear reactor meltdown incident in Japan. Japan, the country got hit by an earthquake and tsunamis last Friday, remember? Yeah, the nuclear plant in Fukushima was hit and kinda having a 'technical difficulties'.

From what I heard the plant was supposed to be built to withstand such natural disaster but.. it was made to hold against 7.5-magnitude of earthquake. But last Friday the earthquake was at 8.9 Richter scale. Wooo..

Believe it or not, the quake was the fifth most powerful ever hit the world. It surpasses even the Great Kanto Quake in 1923, where it was at 7.9 Richter scale and killed over 140 thousands people in Tokyo area. So yeah, I'm worried. Why shouldn't I?

Anyway, hahaha, about the message. It turns out to be a hoax. I mean, yeah, acid rain could happened, when nuclear plant goes off, but so does mutation. For it to be raining acid in Malaysia after a nuclear plant meltdown in Japan.. nah. That's too good to be true. Quite impossible I might say. If it DOES bring acid rain, then I'd say it'll hit Philippine first, or China. Malaysia.. would be taking more than 12 hours for the acid rain to hit us. It was a quake, not a hurricane.

Another reason why I say the message was a hoax, because I heard the radio made the announcement, saying that, its a hoax. Thank you Mr. Radio. I just laughed at my girlfriend. Hahaha

Anyway thank you to my friends and others for sending me the message.

[Games] Batman: Arkham Asylum

One of the best game in 2009. But I played in 2010 though because I didn't have an adequate, gaming system requirement. Coincidentally, by the time I got this game, I've already enjoyed The Batman Animated series and The Justice League. So, I was kinda fascinated with the Batman skills and gadgets after watching those. Wanna know how its feel to be a high-tech detective with fancy gadgets? This is THE game, just for you.

Ok, I must admit this game is a bit demanding. If you don't have GFX card of NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or ATI Radeon X1300 or higher, then no Batman for you. But what to do, this game sports uber graphics, scenery all that is fancy. The game however is far from not being buggy. From what I have read from the net before I acquire this game, there are lot of sound driver problems, non-compatible graphic card driver and so on. I myself encountered a problem with the graphic setting. It took me quite a while to figure out what to adjust, to turn on or off. I could still play the game but after 45 minutes to 1 hour it will shut down my computer. Finally, it turn out that all I have to do is turn off the PhysX apps.. I'm playing a game with high detailed graphic but PhysX must be off. What is the odd of that..

Anyway, thank God that all the troubles worth its while. The gameplay is completely superb. Just because the game focus mainly on being Mr. Detective doesn't mean you won't get a piece of action. There are shitloads of action in this game, different is you do it Batman style. That means no fire arm an no killing, AT ALL! That is what I like about this game. Batman's code of honor. Criminal kills, vigilante don't. The line every justice upholders should never cross.

Check out the graphic. And that, is without PhysX. For the gameplay, this game allows the player to tap into Batman's world. Player can enter the 'detective mode' that activates Batman's special visor in his cowl to detect anomalies, enemies position, object of interest, clues and more. Also it makes you see better in the dark. Now you know how Batman knew where you're hiding. Ha! For battling, there are multiple combat action you can take; attack, stun and counter. And you could combine all to make combos. You can also include some of Batman's gadget like Batarang and grappler gun to add into your combo. All of it to knock down your opponent. Remember, no killing.

One of this game features that I really like is the 'Predator' tactic. What you do is that, you make a silent takedown. To do that, you need to hide behind walls, or climb on the gargoyle statues. Then either you slide down, and kick their face or just snatch their feet with grappler gun and hung them from the gargoyle statues. Some of the new combos include of you slide down on a rope and snatch their neck until they out of air. The AI is also brilliantly programmed. They respond to lots of thing. For example, you snatch a guy and hung him from the gargoyle statue, then the guy screaming for help (before he went unconscious), then his friends would come to help out. Then BOOM! You blow up the wall behind them with a remote explosives and buried them all together. NICE!

The game story is straight forward and the map is pretty much in linear path. But that doesn't mean you couldn't explore the place. In fact, with the Riddler's riddles all around the places, encourage players to explore, extensively. Of course, it would be around Arkham Asylum only. But the reward for solving the riddles is very, very rewarding. you'll get a tape of some inmate interviews and character's bio. Which is very good. Why? Some of the tapes belong to the Killer Crocs, Scarecrow and even the Joker himself! So yeah, that ought to seduce me to completely complete the game. Hahaha.

This game is one of my most satisfying games of all time. With the preview of Batman Arkham City already leaked out and all over the Youtube, I'd say this game series is one of my most anticipated game in the coming years. For now, I'm enjoying Bulletstorm, which is also a great game, but thinking of Batman: Arkham City is about to be launched, I'm gonna jizz my pants. Serious shit!

Trolling Around

Last week, I came across a blog, or more like online journal of certain someone. I've been following the journal for quite some times since last week, and I just couldn't believe the blog content.

I admit that there are a tonne of stuff that I have seen and may yet to be seen in the internet. But I have never across this blog like any other. This blog was talking about me? Nah, even if it was, I wouldn't give a shit.

But what make this blog so fascinating is the fact that the blog is practically a honey pot for trolls. Wait.. what is trolling and troll means? Hurm.. trolling means doing something fun and trolls are the funny guys. Yep, seriously.. What does it mean by doing something fun you asked? It is like, you tripped your friend's foot and he fell on his ass, then everybody or just you, laugh at him. Yeah, it mean doing pranks and you the prankster.

Anyway, about this blog, the content was, and still, filled with alot of this guy dissatisfaction over, well practically everything. The funny part of it is that this guy lodged a police report on every single thing he feels discontent with. Imagine this, he feels discontent for having to wait his number to be called in a bank counter, he lodged a police report. Then he feels the police didn't take any action, he lodged a police report against the police. To my surprise, he DID make authentic police reports. Yeah, the police took his report and filed it. I have no idea why.. It's for real!

Then he claimed himself to be a powerful figure because he have never been caught, although he did get jailed for some time for some thing, but he thought of it as an agenda against him made by the government. And yes, he lodged a police report on that too. But then he claims that if he had done wrong in his blog, why he haven't been caught like Raja Petra? Well, one of the possibility is that you being crazy and no one seems to care what you think of. I'm just saying.

He also claimed himself to be a genius, pioneering on alot of the government financial policy. Which is something I doubt of. But then what he did was, yes, that's right, he lodged a police report against the government and the prime minister. Although the police did took his report but I don't think those guys give a rat's ass about it. Probably because the sheer absurdity of his claims. He said that the MEPS thing for the bank card, was his idea.. His proof was his own written blog entries..

He also have a tendencies of ridiculing, calling names, undermining, you-name-it, on other races. Nothing escapes from his wrath! He always thought that people around him are conspiring against him.. for some reason. The fact that after I went through almost all of his entries, I'm pretty sure that he HAD lodged police reports on everyone in his neighborhood and some from Facebook and Twitter! Damn, that is so not cool..

It doesn't take a genius to see that this guy is suffering from a bad case of Schizophrenia. He is.. delusional, paranoid, and worst of all, concocting weird conspiracies. At one point he thought of his slow IPMax internet connection is because of the government conspiracy against him, to steal his money and intellectual materials. Serious shit!

Anyway, I will not disclosed the guy identity nor the url of the blog because.. something had happened to him this past few days. Apparently he picked a fight (again) with another blogger in a Twitter, who happened to be quite an internet superstar. Thus, leading to this guy getting trolled. How did the trolls trolled on him? Well.. they just posted comments, saying that he is indeed a genius and only he can save us all from this 'conspiracies'. Haha. Anyway its a gruesome scene over there in his blog. So I wouldn't want contribute to an event of him getting pawned so hard that he'll commit suicide.

He is a sick guy. I mean, really, really sick.. In the brain, somewhere.. mentally.

[Games] Divinity II: Dragon Knight Saga

Wow, 3 weeks since my last post.. And I had been busy. I've played like 3 new games and read 6 more new books. And I'm about to get another new book from the Horus Heresy series. Anyway, another game that I've played recently is Divinity II: Flame of Vengeance. Tired of waiting for the standalone expansion to be made or present itself, I've decided to bought the Divinity II: Dragon Knight Saga. The one that contain both Ego Draconis and Flames of Vengeance.

Duh.. now I ended up with 1 DVD of Ego Draconis, and another DVD that have both Ego Draconis and Flames of Vengeance.. I hate it when I have multiple game installer just to have the latest expansion.. This is just like the Company of Heroes. where I bought the the first game, second expansion, and the third one have the whole set.. Damn..

The good part of it is that the new DVD contain the refine version of Divinity 2. And I have to say, they did a very good job out of it. In fact, the game becomes one of my most bug-free games of all time. Seriously. I installed it for the first time and play it through to the end without any hassle at all.

I believe I have covered the first part of Divinity II called Ego Draconis, so now I'm going to review the second part, the expansion, the conclusion of the game, Flames of Vengeance. The expansion game was made into a small map, in fact, it only revolves around the city of Aleroth and its dungeons. The city is then divided into several sections and there are a few abandoned caves or sewers for the player to go.

Differently from the first game, the monsters in Flames of Vengeance seems to be re-spawned back whenever the player re-enter the dungeons. Probably to help the player to level up because you know.. you can't get out the city at all. Player can however, get back to the dragon tower in Sentinel Island, but that is as far as the dragon knight can go. Sentinel Island is still off limit so, the player could only roam around the tower. Another thing in Flames of Vengeance is that, player cannot and will not be able to transform into a dragon in the vicinity of the city or at the dragon tower. Player will however, finished the game in a dragon form, so to speak.

The story in this expansion continue where the last game stops. In the last game, the dragon slayer was changed into a dragon knight, and ultimately tricked into unleashing the most evil thing into the world of Rivellon, WOMEN! Nah, I'm just kidding. But seriously, it was a woman. And the hero, got stuck in a crystal in some beyond dimension. Thus brings us to next story, Flames of Vengeance. In the expansion story, the hero is brought back to Rivellon, to.. well, practically to clean up his own mess. The game is good, but not great. Why? Because the graphic was superb but the game story is anti-climax. No, nope, I'm not talking about the game's ending, but the FINAL mission.

In the final mission, the player will get to transform into a dragon to finish the game. The problem here is that, how would you feel after spending hours of playing the game collecting nice items for you character and leveling him up, only to finish it with an ESCORT mission to deliver the final blow? Not the kind that makes me wanna play the game again..

Well, at least there is this uber skill called Wrath of the Patriach. Wipe out a portion of enemies and towers.

But still, the game is not entirely bad. Improvement have been made and the game could really keep the player occupied for some time, until the next game come out. For me, I was waiting for the Bulletstorm. Now this game can end up as one of my collection on the shelf.

I read something today that really nice and enlightening. I have never thought of it before.

The story is about a student from the Crime Psychology faculty.

He was tasked by his lecturer, to investigate his own friend and also his roommate.

Apparently his friend was suspected for breaking an entry into another lecturer's office, and took a peek on a question sheet that have yet to be released.

He was suspected prior to his case during the last 2 years where he was involves in a violence incident.

The student tried to fulfill the task, and ended up feeling bad for suspecting his own friend.

He went back to his lecturer and asked him..

Whether it is the right thing to be doubting his own friend.

He known his friend for years, and he is sure that his friend is not the criminal, regardless of the case of violence that his friend was involved with.

He also said that he already confirmed with his friend that he was not only involved with the violence incident, but was actually one of the victims.

So, he feel bad for his friend..

The Crime Psychology lecturer smiled. And he said,

'Doubting your own friend is not necessarily bad. Its a natural action. Why do humans doubt each other? Its because they wanted to know about each other. Not doubting them would be not showing interest in them. '

The student was surprised to hear that and said that he care for his friend, its only that he feel regretful that he had to doubt his friend, whom he believe is trustworthy.

The lecturer replied,

'Its not the same as believing in someone. There was a period of time where you didn't know that your friend was in trouble: the violence incident. And you only knew it when the other lecturer and me mentioned about it.'

The lecturer sighed, and said,

'You shouldn't be regretting for doubting him. You should be regretting, for not showing him any concern all this years, while calling him a good friend.'

The student was shocked, and suddenly realized what the lecturer really tasked him to do. He wouldn't accuse his friend without proof, but he shouldn't let it go without doubting his friend either. Finally, the student was able to solve the case by talking to his friend and his friend was found innocent.

(Apparently the case was that the the lecturer's wife was the one who went into the office, and took some documents that belonged to her from the lecturer's locked drawer. A misunderstanding.)

So there you go. Which is worst? Doubting people around you, or simply believe in them? If you believe someone without a doubt, then you believe blindly. But if you doubt too much, it leads to paranoia.

When you heard something about your friend, always confront them. Even it would hurt your friend's feeling to hear such thing, you do it, because it means that you care about them.

But if you just believe what other people said about you own buddy, and you didn't even bother to clarify from or talk to your buddy, then you just an ignorant fool. In fact, you are the WORST, for calling yourself their friend.

[Games] Front Mission Evolved

Another one for me to write down and uninstall after is, Front Mission Evolved. Apart from my newly found obsession of Warhammer 40k universe, I was also a fan to Front Mission franchise before. I said 'was' because the last time I played the Front Mission series when I was in high school, and stopped after the game went extensively into other game consoles such as Nintendo DS and mobile phones. I simply don't have time or resources to own multiple game platforms, just to follow a game story... So I simply stopped.

Anyway, my first impression of this game was, 'Wow, so cool.' I watched the game preview in Youtube and was completely awed. This game franchise is known for its gameplay of tactical role-playing. But for the Front Mission Evolved, it was turned into first-person-shooter role-playing game. Well, pretty much looked like an arcade game. The game also came out in 3 different platform, PS3, XBox 360 and PC. Of course with all this changes, the game storyline is also stands apart from the rest of the previous prequels. In fact, if you look into Wikipedia, you'll see that the game is categorized as the Front Mission spin-off.

I don't have much to say about its gameplay, given that it really just like any simple FPS game. You walk, you jump, you sprint, and you shoot. No taking cover of course when you in 40 foot tall or so robot! What the game still retain however, is the option to customize the Wanzer (Wanderpanzer or walking tank). Its pretty much the same like the prequels before and this, is what makes this game such an interesting one. There are two kinds of weapon to choose, meele or ranged. And there are multiple more types to choose from. From light to heavy machine gun, iron baton to skullcrusher fist, and even mounted shoulder weapon, be it rocket launcher or gattling gun!

The Wanzer can be customize right before every battle and player must choose wisely, or just use personal preference. I mean, I myself loves cumbering walking tank with heavy firepower, other would like swift moving with hard knuckles. All of this of course can be fitted with a price, which is in my personal opinion is the drawback. Back in the game before, player will buy the equipment from wares and store the items. But in this game, each time the Wanzers is re-equipped, the old stuff would be sold. EACH TIME. Thus you must think more than twice to change the looks..

All in all, the game is good but far from great. I mean, yeah, its nice to finally able to personally piloting one of the Wanzer instead of viewing them from third person view.. But, I'd say the game can get kinda lame after long hours of playing. Its full of repetitive motion, and seriously, there is no replay back value. The fact is that, first time playing was great, then you slowly starting to feel bored. There are almost nothing to achieve in mission after mission. There are medals or achievements to get by finding hidden objects, but there are no rewards whatsoever. Not even an easter egg!
The graphic is nice, but buggy (Yeah, like alot of other games). Especially when you have to walk out of the Wanzer and walk on your own 2 feet. Each time I got to that part of the game, I have to reload my game save, otherwise the graphic started to tear apart. The game could use a bit of polishing, but...

Its kinda sad you know.. Square Enix is probably one of my favourite game publisher of all time. Seriously, DragonQuest and Final Fantasy anyone? And I'm starting to think they are going under the toilet, just like Ubisoft.. Truth to be told, no one cares how long does a sequels come out, as long as they come out good. But to release a half-assed made game like this...

[Games] Divinity II: Ego Draconis

I was looking for some data files in my hard disk when I stumbled into this one, my blog entry for Divinity game. I made it last year, not posting it yet because from what I heard, this game have an add-on call Flame of Vengeance. Ego Draconis is in Latin, which means 'I am Dragon'. I've finished this game actually, a long time ago, but I was waiting for put in with the add-on as well, considering it was already out. But I never found the add-on, well not a standalone add-on. All of the DVDs that I found in the stores were Divinity II: Dragon Knight Saga. Which is the remastered version of Divinity II that I already had.

But, I'm done waiting. If there is none to find, then what can I do. Besides, right after posting this, I'm gonna uninstall the game and save some storage for other newer games. My hard disk of 250GB space with different partitions and still, I need to clear some room for new games. Ughh...

Anyway, about this game. This game is indeed unique in its way. Despite the negative receptions that it receives when first launched, the game is not totally bad. I'd say.. not properly polished game that is. The thing is that, this game look like a normal hack & slash RPG game. The only difference is that, well, just like the tittle suggested, you can transform into a dragon. It does sound nice doesn't it? But lets not get excited here.

Even if the gameplay allows the player to shift from being a war-mongering warrior into a fire-breathing dragon sounds cool, be prepared to be disappointed. Because the two transformations is completely unrelated, literally. If you walk like a mere mortal, then you have bandits, raiders, goblins and all ground creatures to fight with. But when you transform into a dragon, you get to fly AND fight with other flying creatures ONLY. See there, you don't get to spew carnage with your dragon mouth to the people below.

Then the game have quite a high requirement. It even require 3.0 Model Shader, which could be found in latest GFX card. But the thing is, the game doesn't actually sports a great graphic. The scenery was good, but it lack of game in-depth. Even when you turn into a dragon and flying high, you could see only so far. The surrounding might seem nice, but the creatures are a bit hard to spot, until you think you saw someone clubbing your head..

But still, the game breath some kind of a refreshing concept. I mean, how many games out there that allow game character to change into a dragon and got into dogfights (more like dragonfight lol!). And the story line was filled with twist and thrill. Spoiler alert, the ending was not a happy one.

All in all, I enjoyed the game but I'm not really recommending it. At least not my version. I mean my game was an old one. I'm sure the remastered version of the Divinity II would fare better.

The Whispering Turd

Something caught my attention this week. Its a pretty good story, so good that I LMAO.

The story goes like this..

Apparently there is this person, who secretly bad-mouthing people. Spreading lies and shit like that, making it look like its her honest opinion. Now, I knew she did talk bad behind my back, but I choose to ignore it simply because her own low -very low- integrity.

I have no idea who or even what would ever listened to her words anyway. I pretty sure if she talked to a wall, that wall will drop dead in agony, literally, for unable to make a run away from her.

But that is the thing. Someone were listening to her, and got caught in a huge misunderstanding. I don't blame them of course, given the circumstances that they actually new in town. And nobody bother to tell them otherwise either.

But is it so hard to ask around? You heard something is one thing, asking for validity, is another. Whenever someone done something, they have their reasons, and you wouldn't know what, if you didn't ask. Especially if you're new.

Please.. Don't act like you have seen it all. If one's action puzzled you, ask away the reasons. Making your own conclusions simply because you think its the right reason, is the first step to misunderstanding.

Now, the event here is about a canned sardine. She took someone else sardine, and claimed it hers. But the poor girl says, not its not. Because the canned sardine was a new one, with an opener on top. While hers, was an old one, dusty under the kitchen, and had to be opened with a can opener. She simply shrugged, and replace the new one she taken with the old one.

Now, the event here is insignificant. Because things seem to work out. You take my things accidentally and you replace it back, nothing to argue about.

But this person, didn't stop there. To leave her 'turd' legacy, she whispered things that she excel the most. Yup, she did. She told the new tenants, that this poor girl who have stayed in that house for more than 2 years.. that she DOESN'T like to share her things. But she LOVES to take other people things.

Now ain't that fucked up?

You know why I suddenly interested with this story? The truth is..

I bought that canned sardine, and I gives it to the poor girl. She is the angel of my heart. When I gave her the can, I saw where she kept hers on the cabinet near the kitchen, pointing out that there are someone else canned sardines under the kitchen. Then later, she told me someone took hers, and replace it with an old canned sardine. I told her, its okay. At least it was replaced. But I warned her, the incident didn't seem to be.. a simple mistake.

I mean, how could you mistook other people stuff, when it was brand new and completely different with yours. Mine was with an opener on top, and it was placed somewhere else from her dusty cans.

But we let it go, believing that is done. Although I did suspect what she would do, given her bad nature. When this story resurfaced back, with a footnote of this poor girl so-called 'bad habits', I laugh so hard I almost spilled my tea.

Seriously, you would believe that hoe stories? Come on new tenants.. when you guys first coming into that house, she was the one that against it. Saying that she couldn't mixed with people from different departments. She even cursed on you guys for intruding into her tiny little 'group' of friends. The only thing that make her welcome you later is because you had vehicles brought along.

And for the remaining old tenants, you have been living with her for years. YEARS! She have talked behind people and stabbing their back for ages and you knew it. What makes, really, makes you think, that she wouldn't stab your back as the same? Because you are her BFF? Because you are so special to her? Oh, please...

I met her for the first time and already hearing every single one of your guys 'bad traits'.

But I reserve my judgment, for it unfair to draw conclusion from a mere wild gossips.

This not a high school anymore. You were welcomed by some nice people, only to discredit them when you heard something from some skank. No only that, did you, at least, ask the real truth from the accused? There is more to life than clinging to a friendship that stinks.

I learned it the hard way. Maybe you should too..

[Games] Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

The latest online game I tried is this, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, or simply W.A.R. Yup, very neat short form. The game was released in 2008, well, quite a long time ago. But only recently that I feel like playing because.. you know, just to off some steams while waiting for the oncoming game of Warhammer, the Dark Millennium. I'm starting to be obsess with Warhammer am I? Urgh...

Anyway, I don't actually follow the storyline of Warhammer Fantasy, but it does show resemblance with Warhammer 40K. For what I understand, Warhammer Fantasy sets in the past while Warhammer 40K sets in the future. Both have the Imperial, Orks, and not to forget Chaos. In Fantasy they have Elves, but the 40K have Eldar, which I need not to point out that its pretty much the same. Now, why I mentioning this? Well apparently alot of people actually comparing this game with the Warcraft, which is ridiculus.. World of Warcraft may have been released earlier but the Warhammer have been around even longer. They even started from the board game before going to electronic.

Anyway, I have yet to see any private servers for this game, from what I know there is no server emulator available for this game. So I went straight to the retail game first. Probably because of the free unlimited play time offer. Yup, WAR went free, but not totally free. The trial offer allows the player to play a limited part of the game, but believe me, it is far more better than the last 10 days free play time offer. What make this game unique in a way, is that there is an option to stream data during game play. As we all know, MMORPG nowadays demands not just a truckload of bandwidth to stay connected but also some data storage. When I say some, it means at least 20GB of data storage.

For data stream during game play, you probably need like 9-10GB space to be installed while the rest is streamed back to you during gameplay, but if you choose not to, then the whole game will be patched up to 20GB. But it not just that, in the trial offer, the game will also not to be installed fully until you upgrade your subscription as, full subscriber. I have no idea who would want to stream the data during gameplay because.. who wants to play a laggy game anyway. Better blame the game server rather than you own crappy bandwidth, I'd say.

As you can see from the screenshot, there are 3 races for each faction, and there are 4 more class to choose from each race. There are the forces of Order and Destruction, races in the Order are Imperial, High Elves and Dwarves, for Destruction are Chaos, Dark Elves and Greenskins. For the classes, its a typical classes actually although the names varied from each races. There are melee DPS, ranged DPS, tank, and support.

During my gameplay, I took the character from the forces of Destruction, race of the Greenskin as the Black Orc. Yeah, he is not exactly black but, it just the name of an Ork clan. At least its better than Choppa, hahaha. The role for this character is tanking, and I always use this kind of character in any RPG game because in my opinion they are suitable for soloing. Anyway, it really does.

Ok, this game did show some interesting features regardless that most of it pretty the same with other MMORPG game out there. First of all, there is this thing called Public Quest area. Its a place where you automatically get a quest, or what to do in that area, and you will share it with everyone. There is a ranking system for who contribute the most, to get like top three or ten, to loot the reward. And after finishing the quest, the area will reset back after a few minutes. Now, that, I haven't seen yet anywhere and it is pretty awesome. No more steal-kill and arguing about, 'Hey, this is my port' or stuff like that.

Then, there is RvR or Region versus Region, where you get to fight against the counterpart of you forces. You know, Order versus Destruction.. Its more like guild war, but, larger. Seriously, really large..

And then there is the Scenario play, where you can queue up as solo or a party, where you will be contested in a map to gain foothold in the area. Its like.. PvP battleground or something, the only different is that you actually gain experiences. If you went for a Scenario as a solo, you will be automatically grouped with other players in a party, and every player will be at the same, regulated levels. So there won't be higher or lower level. This is very interesting, because everyone could focus on their own roles, and only the most, specifically hand-picked equipments and neatly arranged hotbar filled with skills and potions will decide the battle outcome. Also, there is a collision detection system, where any character of tank role, will automatically block other character from going through him, thus creating a wall of meat-shield for ranged DPS and support character. So to speak..

There are alot of other features but.. I couldn't say or test it out myself. Of course with the trial offer, I could only go so far. Trial game allow players to level up to 10 only and could only traverse between a couple of regions. From where I've been, I'd say Norsca and Nordland only.

This game is good, no doubt about that. But I doubt this game could last long, given that they already shut down 64 of their servers and only running on 15 servers.. I will not pretend that I know what went wrong with this game, but I could agree with those out there that pointing out about the W.A.R drawbacks..

The thing is that, in my opinion, there can still be a comeback for W.A.R. All they need to do is fixed all the flawed side of their game, like the class balances, server performance and all those stuffs that the players have been complaining about before.. then release a new expansion, a new line of story. That, would at least show all those players out there that have ended their subscription, that this game deserve a second chance.

[Games] World of Warcraft

Whew, for the past of couple of months. I've been spending some of my free time playing an old but not yet outdated game. Its an online game, MMORPG, massive multiplayer online role-playing game. Famous by far, who wouldn't heard the game. Unless of course, gaming is not one of your hobby and you have never heard of the internet. Something like that. Hehe

So yeah, the game is called World of Warcraft or simply, WoW. The game is quite old, and the franchise is even older! The game franchise was first released in 1994, being a strategy game for PC, titled Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. WoW was then released on 2004, the game event taking place 4 years later after the conclusion in Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. WoW then continuously proceed with the game story with its own expansion, such as The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King. The latest installment for WoW is the Cataclysm.

Anyway, I tried the retail game and a couple of private server. I must say, even with a game graphic from year 2002, the game is quite a success. I mean, a game that doesn't demand so much requirement and all it need is a working internet connection, who could ask for more? The game client also provided easy installation, download with resume provided, but hardisk storage could be a bit of a problem. Apparently, all in all space needed to install and play the game correctly will as big as 20GB. Yeah, that a whole lot of space there.. And is only up to the expansion of the Wrath of the Lich King, I bet more is required to install the new expansion, Cataclysm.

Here is a character that I made in the Blitzhub private server. At first, their game server called Feathermoon is dedicated for PVP, PVE, raids and such. In other word the game char would be automatically leveled up to 80 to save up time for leveling. Later, the Blitzhub created another game server called Frostmourne to take Feathermoon roles, while Feathermoon was made for normal online gaming fun. You know, doing quest, killing monsters and leveling up. Blitzhub comunity is pretty nice although they just started to grow. The have their own forum on Blitzhub Forum

I'm promoting their server am I? Yeah, I think I just did. Its not wrong is it? The players and GMs in that server is mighty nice, I just thought it would be a good place for another players to join in. Haha

Well, enough promoting, here is it. The ingame view. As you can see from the screenshot, you will notice that the game char model might be lack of details but the surrounding is astonishing. This here, is the scenery of the Stormwind city from outside of the walls.

And here is a picture of a Shaman, surrounded with elemental totems. I just snatched that guy picture, ha ha.

To travel from outpost to outpost or between cities, mount is essential. In the land of Azeroth and Kalimdor, only ground mounts are available for player to use. But there is a transportation called the 'taxi' that allowed players to fly faster to next place. However in Northrend and Netherland, players can use their own flying mounts. And this, is how it feels to be flying around. Ha ha

Well, this is it. There are a lot of things to tell about this game, evidently. This game is so huge, it kind of felt like a secondary life. The whole map is so enormous , there is so much to explore. I started to understand why some people got easily attached or.. addicted to this kind of game.

In my opinion, the gaming experience for this game is just like in the Fallout 3. Different is, you get to interact with other players online and the game map ranges from multiple continents and even between worlds. From planet Azeroth to Netherland. I am however, already stopped playing the game. I'm don't exactly have the luxury to spend my time too much in gaming. I guess, until next time.

[Movie] Ultramarines - Dissappointment much?

Well, what can I say.. I must confess that I'm a bit disappointed with the newly released Warhammer 40k movie called Ultramarines.. First of all.. I did not expect the movie to be.. quite bland. I dunno, there is a lot of blood spilled and stuff but after playing the Dawn of War II or even the Dark Crusade games.. I found the movie is a bit wanting.. Seriously I think the cinematic of the Warhammer games that I keep watching whether ingame or in Youtube are far better than this movie.

That is on the point of the movie graphic of course. The surrounding view, effect nonetheless is great, but the characters were a bit.. different. I don't know whether it is just me or I find the characters are not as I expected. I think the characters in Dawn of War II is far more convincing than in this movie. I mean, those guys really have broad shoulders and stern faces. But in this movie, I pretty sure the squad captain and the apothecaries looked like senile old men..

And the effect.. I dunno, I still favor the cinematic of Dawn of War II. The Space Marines however seems to be portrayed like normal soldiers, I mean there is one scene where the marines panting for air while climbing a set of stairs..Seriously? I thought they have like 3 lungs and 2 hearts pumping super-oxygenated blood in their veins..

Well, seriously I dunno.. maybe I was expecting too much. Maybe I thought too highly of the movie, it is their first release anyway.. First of many to come, who knows.. Anyway here is the screenshot of the movie I took.. for a DVD that cost me $25.99.. For one instance there, I kinda regret it and think I should save it for the next expansion of Dawn of War II, Retributions..

For some reason, I think I've seen the character's model somewhere in Youtube.. made by one of the Warhammer 40k fan.. could it be possible?

Mercedes-Benz Biome

Call me crazy, but when I was checking my mail the other day, I found this article about a car concept made by Mercedes-Benz. Its not some typical car concept with the sedan body structure. Its totally different and totally futuristic. Well, too futuristic if you ask me.

This is the picture taken from 2010 LA Auto show. Ok, from what I read in the Yahoo news, there was some pretty wicked cars being displayed there. Some of them promote fuel efficiency, battery-powered engines and even a system consist of series of cameras to reduce collision probabilities. But there is nothing more wicked than the Mercedes-Benz Biome.

Well, the car is not actually in the market yet. But hey, its called car concept for a reason, yes? The car concepts is put on display for you know, attract investors and stuff. But Mercedes-Benz Biome attracts me more. You see, there is more to that futuristic-slick-looking car. Its not the car body that make it stand out than the rest. Because if a driver is looking for an elegant and sporty-looking car, try the Mazda Shinari car concept. But for Mercedes-Benz Biome its the inside that make it looks awesome.

The car is said to have a symbiosis system, with nature. The concept is that, the car will collect energy from the sun and store it into a fluid-like chemical bonds, called BioNectar4534. Now, I wouldn't pretend that I know this kind of stuff. But this could only mean a few things. Its eco-friendly, a new renewable energy sources, no fuel price hikes and no more gas station stop (except loo stop). Isn't that sound revolutionary? Not only it will revolutionize the auto-car industry but also the energy industry!

Another feature from the symbiosis system is the material it used. Its called BioFibre, lighter than metal but stronger than steel when matured. Did I said matured? Yeah, you guessed it. The material is grown in Mercedes-Benz Nursery using a proprietary DNA. And another thing, this car can be composted after it reached its life span, or you can use it for building materials. Harder than steel, remember?

So basically, it means the car is not only use an alternate source of energy than fossil fuels. It also means the car will not be manufactured in a traditional factory, but it is grown from.. trees I guess. Take a look at the manufacturing process:

As you can see, there is a seed there. And then it grow and grow, and become a 4 wheel-4 seat-solar powered-car. How awesome is that?! Too awesome that I don't think it would be available at least until the 23th or 24th centuries. Yeah, too bad. It is just a car concept.

But I'm not saying that this kind of technology is impossible to be explored today. I'm just saying well, we gotta start somewhere. I mean, I have read and seen a lot of crazy stuff but true in the internet. Like the fast-boat made by the Sea Shepherd, mini submarine/ submerged-boat made by Columbian drug lords, and more!

I gotta give credit to the designers who have wild imaginations like this. You know what they say, 'If you think I'm a dreamer, then I'm not the only one'.The designers are Hubert Lee, Christopher Rhoades, Nicolas Garfias, Alan Barrington, Daniel Kim, Benjamin Messmer, and Jack Luttig.

I gotta to say this is one crazy stuff. Ambitious, daring, crazy but not impossible. What worries me is the vehicle power source. Using sun as the source, we might heading into a world of free energy, and that doesn't sit right with the world of capitalism. I'm just saying..

[Movie] Ultramarines: Warhammer 40k

Well, I'll be damned. Finally, a movie from Warhammer 40k franchise. No, no, seriously. This is the official movie. No one of those fan-made short films in Youtube. The real deal, from Games Workshop.

Now, I haven't watched it yet. From what I've read in the net, it was supposed to be released on 29th November 2010 (yesterday, yeah I know). In UK and Canada, from what I read in Wikipedia. The movie will be 70-minutes sci-fi thriller that use CGI and state-of-the-art animation production techniques. It utilizes Image Metrics animated facial capture techniques, that can be seen used in Grand Theft Auto IV, Assassin Creed 2, and Harry Porter: Order of the Phoenix.

The movie screenplay has been written by Dan Abnett. He is the guy that wrote a lot of Warhammer 40k novel series, 25 books to be exact. Some of them are the Gaunt's Ghost series, the Eisenhorn trilogy, three books from Horus Heresy series (including the Prospero Burns), and more. Well, aside from Graham McNeil, Dan Abnett is also one my favourite writer. I may have not mention him before but I've read some of his short stories in Let the Galaxy Burn and Tales of Heresy. I cannot wait to see what plot he have laid into this movie.

Anyway, this movie will be a production from Games Workshop and UK-based production company Codex Pictures. To tell the truth I've never seen this company production. I hope they won't let the Warhammer 40k fans (like myself) down.

Coz you know what? We really have been waiting for this. As we all recalled, Games Workshop did attempt to make an animated movie of Warhammer 40k before, called Bloodquest, starring the Blood Angels Chapter. But.. the project was put on hold and the production company was disbanded before it was even continued.

So yeah, I'm really.. really looking forward for this movie. I hope it get to my place's cinema soon, or get released in DVD. I dunno, whichever that I could get my hand on.

Games: Borderlands & all DLC

Am I too late to write about this? Is it? Hurmm.. Nope, I don't think so. Come on, even in gamefaqs.com there are other games that got their walkthrough written AFTER 6 months, right? So.. yeah. I don't think I'm too late for this game.

Borderlands game is released on October 29th, 2009. Huh.. almost a year ago. But, I didn't get to play the game right after it was released, due to.. some other game that have been released at the same time.. I think it was.. Tiberium War: Twilight, or was it Dragon Age: Origins... hurm.. Dunno. Maybe even both.

The game was developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games. Thank god it wasn't Ubisoft publishing this game, otherwise they will probably screw it up with their so called-digital-right-management. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about, the notorious DRM. I mean, come on, what right? What management? I paid the price, and I wanna play some games. So its my right, and I should manage it me self. Is it really that hard to let go?

Well, enough about that. Lets go straight to the game. I gotta to admit, first time I heard about this game, I was like.. whaaat? Because of the game graphics looks a bit cartoonish. And also because of the name. Whenever I heard about the Borderlands, people gonna say, "Hey, its another post-apocalyptic game, just like-wait, better that Fallout 3!". So I was like, hell no. Fallout 3 is the best FPS+RPG game EVAR, and nothing could compare with its post-apocalyptic-ness... unless you can make another scene somewhere in Moscow... What? I'm just saying..

But then, somewhere around 2010, I found the game on the shelf of unnamed game store, and I feel like, what do I get to lose? Its a game, maybe its good, maybe average, and if its not I'm going to make a flying saucer out of it. Then there you go, I played it. For the first 1-2 hours, it was great. The graphics may seems a bit cartoonish in Youtube, but it just like Prince of Persia 2008 (the one with cell-shading). And the gameplay, easy enough to understand, everything else seems pretty straight-forward.

The game, although emphasizing on multiplayer, its also great on single player. Lets.. just go to single player only, because it nothing much different than multiplayer aside from extra loots, exp and friends to chat with. At the beginning of game, there would be the opening story, about some kind of a legend, the Vault, with untold treasures, could be riches, relics or anything at all. The narrator, who was telling to a bunch of kids, that many had tried, and yet failed to find this Vault. Some said that it was just a myth, some old wives tale, but the narrator mentioned, if its just a fiction, why people keep on searching it?

Then, the game started to begin. The four kids where the narrator was talking to before, is the characters that you can choose from. They are, Roland the Soldier, Mordecai the Hunter, Lilith the Siren, and Brick as himself (he's a berserker). As their title suggested, that is their specialty. Roland have balance features, prefer usage of shotgun and assault rifle. He can deploy an automated turret with wide variety of defence and offence capabilities. Mordecai is more of a sniper and prefer sniper rifles and revolvers (for self defence I guess). He have a pet, bat-bird looking called Bloodwing, to help him in long range attack skill or just for scavenging.Then there is Lilith who have some kind of psychic power that allow her to phase-shift, that mean she can become intangible and cannot be harm in this state. She could harm the enemy though as she exit her phase-shift form there would be a damaging shockwave. She preferred elemental weapons, coz, you know, she psychic and elemental works for her. That sort of thing. And finally, Brick. He is a brick-headed character, specialize in explosives. That mean weapons with explosive properties and rocket launchers. He also prefer using his fist, in his berserk form he will rapidly generate health, increased resilience and pounding people to death.

As you can see from the screenshots, it really does look like a post-apocalyptic game. Just look at the scene! But the thing is, the plot reveal it otherwise. In fact, the game box itself describe it differently. No, this is not a post-apocalyptic game, thus cannot be compared with Fallout 3 storyline. The game take setting somewhere in the future on a planet called Pandora. Apparently something happened, and the planet was abandoned. And that something is being the planet stripped off its mineral deposits, and its coming summer time causes the planet wildlife (really really wild and dangerous) to come out of hibernation. So, the rich take off and the poor left behind. So the scenery here is pretty much about an abandoned planet, where every man for himself.

I'm not gonna rant over the game plot. Not that its not good or a piece of crap. But because I think its better to play the game and feel the game flow yourselves. Besides, the main mission is pretty straight-forward, FIND THAT VAULT! There are of course some side missions and bounties to take on. The game is completely packed of actions with no puzzle or riddle-solving of any kind. Well, the only puzzle you gonna solve is finding weapon parts in a map and get a cool assembled weapon. So to say.

Ok, one of the features that make this game truly outstanding is its Procedural Content Creation System. This system is used to randomize the loots and rewards in game such as the weapon rate of fire, accuracy, element and even bonuses such as health or ammo regeneration. It is estimated that this system could generate over 70 million variation of weapon. So, in completing a mission, you might get a weapon of a same name but never the same attributes. The system also randomize the enemy attributes. So yes, there would a variety of enemies that you would find in game, be it a flaming crazy guy or a flaming crazy midget or a flying flaming squirrel. Anything could happen in Pandora.. I'm just saying..

So there you go. I believe this game have the attraction, the very same, offered by the game called Diablo 2. I think so. As far as I could remember, Diablo 2 also generate randomly whereas no gameplay have the same map layout or weapons/enemies attribute. But Borderlands have the same map layout for every play. And also, there is a 2 seated armored-all-terrain-gun mounted vehicle in Borderlands to drive around. If you play in single player, the gunner port will be automatically follow the driver's view and could be fired along with the forward guns.

For the DLC, it will add new places and extra missions across Pandora. New places, new people and new enemies. But still, the main mission is still FIND THAT VAULT. I've already played the game twice because second playthrough give a lot more loot and exp. But thats the thing, after finishing the game, player could continue with second playthrough with the first playthrough profile, that mean inventory and character level.

The DLC that already released are The Zombie Island of Dr.Ned, Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx and Claptrap's New Robot Revolution.

Book: Warhammer 40k - The Horus Heresy Series Part 2

Finally, I've finished reading the rest of the books that I bought last week. Phew, it was a good read. Though I think I might missing another book. I pretty sure there is another one called Horus Rising.. Hurmm..
Anyway, yess.. the other 2 books, False Gods and Fulgrim.

Yup, I definitely should read this one first. As suggested by the title, it revolves around about the Luna Wolves/ Sons of Horus Legion. Apparently, in this book time line, Horus was already elevated to be the Warmaster of the Great Crusade. That sir, means that he is in command of the entire Imperium military might. Putting it in place.. the story here takes about after Horus Rising and before Galaxy in Flames. I think so. Galaxy in Flames took place on the Issstvan system while this book covers on Davin moon and the war against Technocracy.

The story started after Horus recently promoted into the position of the Warmaster. The Emperor then gives Horus full responsibility on continuing and completing the Great Crusade. It was the peak time for the crusade as the fringes of the galaxy is almost reached. Then, something happened. Nobody knows, but the Emperor knows it. He turned his back and said that he is going back to Terra to work on some great project. He didn't disclosed much, but it was not soon after, remembrancers, scrivener, or some sort, started to flood into the crusade Expedition fleets. These adepts, scribes, were not warriors, as they didn't come to join the war. But instead to capture the moments of the final hour of the Great Crusade.

All of these things started put a heavy burden on the Warmaster. Yep, bureaucracy and red tape.. It always wears a man down. Anyway, with Horus as the Warmaster, he started to have to collaborate with the Council of Terra and the Mechanicum, instead of having his own way of doing. That, is the part where Erebus will play to exploit, a tiny speck of doubt in the Warmaster's heart.

In another side, there is also a tale about Kyril Syndermann and Euphrati Keeler. Ok, like I said, this book come before the Galaxy in Flames. Their part of the story is before they.. urmm.. felt the Emperor's divinity. Euphrati was already all over the Lectitio Divinitatus belief but Kyril still doubt it. Only after Kyril translated and read the scriptures from the Book of Lorgar tattooed on Erebus's scalp that he started to believe that demon and divine power, indeed do exist. Well, so much for the Imperial Truth then.. Still, one have to wonder. How could someone trust a guy, who have a scripture tattooed over his scalp, that could summon a demon? Maybe there are ulterior motives there, probably. I've seen a lot of stories about men trying to outsmart the demon, as the demon try to do the same. Haha

Finally, the last sci-fi fantasy book for me to read for this week.. Fulgrim. Well, what can I say. Its all about Fulgrim, primarch of the Emperor's Children Legion. Ok, this book covers a lot about the Emperor's Children Legion when they started to fall from grace. Pretty much like The First Heretic where it covers about the Word Bearer Legion. The book of Fulgrim started on the primarch personal campaign againt an alien race call the Laer. This alien, openly shows hostilities against the Imperium and much to Fulgrim's disgust, they use extensive genetic engineering to achieve perfection in their society.

Anyone who have read about Fulgrim before should know that, this guy is a perfectionist. He believe that the Emperor's work is already perfect, anything else is just an abomination. He see that the Laer is some kind of a freak show, and the suggestion from the Council of Terra to make them as protectorate just appalled him. But even as the war is ongoing, Fabius Bile the Legion chief of apothecary managed to convince the primarch that perhaps Laeran could provide the means for them to.. evolve toward perfection. To do so, Laeran must perish and their art of genetic manipulation should be use by the Legion, in an elegant way. Yeah I know, it sounds crazy.

Also, there is a story of a brotherly relationship between Fulgrim and Ferrus Manus, primach of the Iron Hands Legion. It appeared that their brotherhood ties exist because of each other passion over perfection. But.. Ferrus have a slight different ideas. Fulgrim loves beautiful things while Ferrus love durable things. Where Fulgrim enjoy exquisite arts, Ferrus enjoy arts that could last long such as metalwork.

When I read this book, I was kinda shocked. I know that the Chaos god that try to persuade Fulgrim is Slaanesh, Dark Prince of Pleasure of some kind. But seriously in the book, Fulgrim is almost portrayed to be a gay. When he was slowly influenced by Slaanesh, he started to pierce his body with silver accessories, wearing white greasepaint on his face, with thick mascara and lipstick, and wear a thin layered toga, showing his physique prowess. All for him to look.. perfect. And also, I'm pretty much sure that he look kinda girly in his behavior. The way of him being jealous of others, simply because they look or doing better than him. In fact, he thought Captain Demeter of the 2nd Company have stolen his glory in battle which the guy is just doing his job. Huh..

Anyway, yeah, the story goes on and on until it intertwine with the Horus Heresy. In the final part, Fulgrim will kill Ferrus and presented his head to the Warmaster. But by then, it wasn't Fulgrim that serve the Warmaster, but something from the warp. Something that the Warmaster have met before.. possessing his brother's body, the Warmaster realized that there is no turning back from what he have done, as he is the one that swayed Fulgrim's faith from the Emperor and asked Fulgrim to deal with Ferrus. In the end, Horus lost both of his brothers.

Well, that all from the book that I've read for the week. Its a good read, really, if you into science fiction. Graham McNeil is good writer and he always have his way of describing the inside of a story. I love the part where he describing the view of the La Fenice and the Maraviglia's show. It kinda explain why the primarch of the Emperor's Children started to strive for perfection, chaos-style. Like Fulgrim said, it just magnificent!

Book: Warhammer 40k - The Horus Heresy Series Part 1

Hurmm.. Right after my exam was over, I went straight to the mall, watched some movies and bought my favorite novel series. I've always wanted to read The Horus Heresy series. Reading from Lexicanum didn't provide enough info about the universe of Warhammer 40k. I was always interested about what really happened between these primarches of the Space Marine Legion. Haha

So the first book was, The First Heretic. I think its a new release, because I haven't seen the book on any store before. Anyway, the this book also under The Horus Heresy series and covers a lot about Lorgar, primarch of the Word Bearer Leagion.
The book uncover about what the primarch really think about the Great Crusade. Apparently, the Emperor was displeased with Lorgar attempt to create a new religion that worshiped the Emperor. Which is kinda an irony because one of the reason for the Great Crusade was not just to unify the Mankind but also to bereft the religious ignorance. Anyway, it seems that Lorgar did not alone walk the path of damnation. There was a couple of slithering vipers that spouts venomous ideas to Lorgar, causing him to take the Pilgrimage and onward toward the Eye of Terror. Who are these venomous vipers? And What did Lorgar found in the Eye of Terror, that causes him to betray the Emperor? This book really shed some light about Lorgar real motivation behind the instigation of a galaxy-wide civil war.

Another book that I have bought and read, is the Galaxy in Flames. Also another series of The Horus Heresy. This book covers about initial phase of the Horus Heresy. Yeah, someone told me I should read the False Gods first, because that is what the chronological order for the Horus Heresy events. But... what the hell. I've read the Tales of Heresy and Let the Galaxy Burn, so I thought the book of Galaxy in Flames have the same short stories piled up in one book. Turns out it was not. This book takes in depth of the story behind the Horus masterful tactics to purge his Legion and the remaining loyalist element from other Legion such as World Eater, Emperor's Children and Death Guard. On another front, there also stories of Euphrati Keeler and Kyril Sindermann, 2 human persistently trying to impose the belief of Lectitio Divinitatus, much to irritate the Warmaster Horus.

So that is all. I actually bought more books but haven't finished them all, yet. Well I did finish reading the Redemption Corp, Flesh and Iron, and Let the Galaxy Burn, but I will get to that later. For now, from what I have read it seems that the Emperor is right. Even in the end he was betrayed. None of the primarch save Horus, knew that the Chaos entities are nothing without humans. The fact that they NEED humans to do their bidding, even in the course of destroying the Geller field in the Emperor's Lab in order for Chaos to warp away the infant primarches.

Opss.. Did I said to much? Hurm, anyway its a good read. I like the part where Magnus met Lorgar and warned him of the sly vipers that he kept around. Lorgar couldn't let it go, and finally succumbed into his own obsession. How dramatic. A primarch fallen like a mere mortal men..

Next time I should get my hand on the Mechanicum. That would ought to be interesting. Hehe

Petty Fools

Sometimes I wonder.. What has the world become into? Or maybe it isn't the world, but just the group of people that I'm passing through.
I have never paid any attention to other people affairs, as long it doesn't cross my way. Yeah, I know, it kinda sound selfish of me. But I have a principle of, no one can help you, not even a god, if you don't help yourself first. So there you go, unless a person come to me and ask for help, I would budge even I know where that person is going to end.

It have been a while since I post anything. Because I was busy with my exams. Now it already ended, I thought of spending some time writing something.

Someone came to me and ask whether I could make peace with the.. this human that I hate.
I ask of him, 'Why?'.
He said that it could be necessary for collaboration or some sort in the future.
I said back, 'Dude, he is not going to be here anywhere in the future unless YOU invite him to. He is already at the end of his term.'
And he replied back, 'We might need him again, who knows.'
With a grim voice, I said, ' No, YOU need him. In fact, you all worship him."
I sighed.. 'This is beneath me. It only pains me when you all claim yourself to be free thinker and independent, where you couldn't even stand on your own 2 feet. Do what you must, it concerns me no more'.
I turned back and walk away. Some would say I was emotional, probably running away crying or some sort. But I was back home and continued playing Mass Effect 2.

In another occasion, someone brought up an issue. Its about being offended. He asked, if someone offend you, would you offend him back? I answered, depends. He asked again, depends on what? I gave him a straight face and said, depends on whether he would stop being a wuss! Then I laughed. He persistently said, whats wrong with being offended? I said, nothing is wrong, what is your point?
Then he started to explain. 'Some people think that they cannot be offended and that is their right. But the thing is, what can you do if you are offended?'
I look into his face, and clenched my fist. I was a bit irritated with this kind of discussion. I replied back to him, 'Hurm.. I would do things that fit with the counter-offense, I guess.'
'Like what?' He asked.
'Isn't kinda weird that you ask me that question? I mean, in your holy book have this verse saying For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.- Matthew 7:2' I said.
'What relevance is that?' He asked again.
'The relevance is that, if someone were to judged others flaws and misfortune, he would be judged the same way later.' I sighed.. 'So it means, if someone offended you, it is only right for you beat the shit out of him.'
With a shocked face he said, 'Huh? Don't you think that is a bit extreme?'
I turned my gaze to him and said, 'Don't think that I don't know where this is going..'
Then we both quiet down, and depart to our own ways. Ignorant as I might be, I have no interest to drag others to my fight.

Somewhere around the night, a friend come by. His face was gloom and unremarkable. Its probably because of his blue hood he was wearing.
He mentioned something to me, 'Did you noticed? There are words going around. They said you causes this.'
I replied, 'In what way, even remotely, that I caused this?'
He said, 'Because of you, they need to make the choice..'
'Bah, what choice? The words play on their lips, but they already made the choice.' I growled.
'They said that they value the friendships, but I knew, deep within, they worship that filth. Is it not clear already when they accused an innocent soul of treachery, where the man didn't even lift a finger against them. The fact that that filth wrestle every position available in that theater, right under their nose. And the poor soul was blamed for he only hold a lowly place.'
He returned my gaze and said firmly, 'Does it affect you?'
I smiled and looked at the stars in the skies. 'Not at all.'
He doesn't seemed surprised but asked anyway, 'Is there something?'
'I found a note.' I said. 'An interesting note.'
'What does it said?' He asked
'It reveals a human hypocrisy, truly when they are blinds of their own reflection. In the note, a person wishes another to be patience for what happened to the poor soul, and bad mouthing the so called torturer. Little that this person know, that she is the torturer and she is the cause of the misfortune.' I explained.
'Lots of things have happened.' He said.
'Time is the essence here' Again I smiled.
I looked at my cigarette pack, and throw it away. For I have breathe its foul smokes and meld it with the atmosphere of deceit and lies around me. It would not be the last, but this time, I pity the fools.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidifitri

Huh.. its been 2 weeks since the 1st Syawal. But you know what people said, Hari Raya is for a month. I mean, yeah, Syawal is a month in Islamic calendar.. so you know.. still.
Anyway, I was busy. I haven't opened up the internet for.. 2-3 weeks, I guess.. Then I saw that my girlfriend wrote something on her wall and blog, so I thought, yeah, maybe I should write something.

I didn't do much during the Eid, except you know, the usual. Going back to my home village, visiting relatives here and there, hang out with some friends, and eats a lot. I think I gain a pound after all that, huh.. Well I guess it never too much when it comes to Raya right?
Amy called me last night and told me how she felt about friendship. She said she feels sad when a friendship end, and it makes her reminiscing of ol'good times. She asked about my feeling and I said, "What kind of friend is that again?".

I mean, come on. Of course I would feel sad if I were to lose a friend, a very good friend that is. Like Abu Hassan, he was a great person. But things come between us, I wanted to further my studies and he.. wanted to travel for a just cause.

It was 7 years ago.. I remember he always cycle to school, using his father's bicycle. Yeah, he kinda old school 'coz that time I ride on school bus. Abu couldn't afford to so, he rode on the bicycle to school for 4 miles everyday. We always hang out together and do fun stuff. Later he started to join a tarbiyah group and follow them around traveling. During school holiday of course. He used to tell me about this body builder who.. regretted his hedonistic lifestyle and join the tarbiyah groups too. He never told me who was it, because he said its enough to believe that, no matter how far have you fallen, as long you a sane enough to realize you mistakes, its never too late to turn back. Unless of course you committed a genocide, sold your soul to the Devil, or something like that, I don't really think there is a way back from that. Huh..

But it was later revealed that the body builder is indeed, Malik Nor. (I mean, how many body builders in Malaysia anyway..). I didn't get it from Abu, but it was published in a paper about a few years ago but few years later after Abu told me the story. So from there, I could see that Abu have been meeting a lot of interesting people. I guess he is not missing the world right now either. It have been 7 years since we set our path apart, and I haven't met him since. This, is the kind of friend that I really felt its loss. Abu and his bike, tawakkal and afdal. Hehe

Oh yeah, about Amy's friend. of course I felt sad at first. She was involved in a car accident with a lorry trailer and didn't survive it. Then.. it was later, that Amy told me.. when I asked her, how did the accident took place? And she said.. her friend was on her way back home from Genting, and decided to RACE on the way home.
Well.. now I felt sorry for the lorry driver..

So that was the question. What kind of friend do you have? Did they.. hide something from you... And is that for good reason or, their own good reason? Hehe

Ramadhan: The Holy month

Yeah, I know.. Its kinda late to make this kind of entry, given that the fasting month already started a week ago. But still, better than nothing at all, right?

I don't have any problem, fasting during the day and break fast on the evening. I mean, before this I'm used to have meal a couple of time a day. The fact that this year fasting month seems to be during a rainy season.. I wouldn't have to worry about the blazing hot day anymore. But, it may affect the usual tradition of going to the Ramadhan Bazaar though..

Nah, I wouldn't go to the bazaar anyway. Its not like when I still living in the hostel compound. The bazaar would be just downhill and I would just walk to it. Nope, living as the NR for college means I need some kind of transportation to go to the bazaar and be back before the Iftar. Doesn't seem to worth it when I need to walk all the way there and be back, while I could just cook the meals at home. Huh..

The fasting month is really a testing month. From hunger to emotional deprivation. It is the sacred month for all Muslim. All of the Muslims will be tested to the core. How so?

It is believed that during the Ramadhan, all the devil and demons will be chained away in respect of this sacred month. In other word, any atrocities or how to put this delicately... the sins committed by a Muslim is by his or her own conscience.

The greatest threat faced by the Muslims during this month is not just hunger and thirst. Hunger and thirst is just an illusion, believe me. Human can survive without food for weeks, and without water for days. 

It is FITNA', that threatened the Muslims world as a whole. Well, not just the Muslims actually. It threatens the entire human civilization, as fitna' alone could drag down the innocents down to the gutters, sometime turning them into mindless and angry mobs.

How fitna' works? It started from a wild rumors, and like a cancer, it will spread around, turning baseless statement or accusation to be the real thing. How people could just believe the fitna', where it is just a baseless rumors to begin with? Well, if it comes from your own friends or someone who you respected or even someone with quite the reputation, it could be turned to be believable. This is especially easy to achieve, when the person who listen to the rumors, doesn't take the effort to actually investigate the matter. Or at least listen to both sides.

Fitna' doesn't usually come from a person who is rough or even violent. It is the person who looks or claim to be non-malicious that usually do this. Why? Because they are more believable. Well, they do looks frail and delicate. People will see them like, "Oh poor <this guy>.." and listen to his and only side.

Fitna' is very, very dangerous instrument. It turns friends and families against each other throats. It is fueled with resentment and rage. Take example of the oil price issues. Everyone is affected by it, and it only take one wild rumor and gossip to turn everyone against the current ruler. One spark, and it could start a forest fire.

If it is up to me, I'll just take a neutral stance. It doesn't worth it to get into someone else fight, where I don't know how or why the issue started. Its like getting your hand dirty without knowing which or what the heads and tails of the issue. Sounds familiar? Well it happened everywhere. Best solution is to get on with my own life, by my own standards and no one else.

One example of such scenario, happened to a friend of mine. A has been living in same house with B, C and D for almost 3-4 years. They have created this special bond, called BFF (Best Friend Forever). But it only take one douche to come over, and spread some bullshit to create resentment among them. Such a pity.. you have been living together for years, even claim yourselves as, the best friends, whereas you should be the person who knows better than anyone else. But you fell for it, for what and whose sake?

Anyone who refuses the bullshit is claimed to be weak, can't stand on their own.. Well, last time I check, being strong and independent is to be able to stand on their own ideals, not others. But there could be an ulterior motive behind all this. Like getting a free ride and easy tips for their studies. Yup, its a dog-eat-dog world out there. Huh..

Its only a week since the holy month of Ramadhan started. I hope by the end of this month, I will become even stronger and sturdier than I ever was. No way I'm gonna fell for this puny, baseless, and corrupting Fitna'. I have my pride, not only as a man, but as a Muslim, born and raised as one, and I will never be swayed by it.

Post-apocalyptic themed games

During my one week holiday, I managed to entertain myself with a few new and old games. The games were being the Fallout 3 & all DLCs, Metro 2033, and Borderlands & all DLCs

Yeah yeah, I know. Borderlands being post-apocalyptic game? Whaaat? Actually the game setting is not exactly took place in post-apocalyptic event. There is nothing apocalyptic with the planet being abandoned by the colonists. It just that the game LOOKED like one. One of the reason if you search in the net, many gamers will be comparing between Borderlands and Fallout 3. But, we will get down to that later.

Lets start with Fallout 3 eh? Its a well known game, all gamers will at least heard once about this game. This game won a whole lot of award as The Best Overall RPG, Overall Game of the Show of E3 2008 and also awarded by GamePro Magazine as PC Game of the Year 2008. Great work Bethesda Game Studios.

But that is all about rating, publicity and all. But what about the real deal? The gaming experience and all that shits? We don't want another Bioshock that have all the juices but was too easy on the hand that it could be completed in less than 5 hours. I mean, come on, this is no effing hand-held console games like you played on a bus or train.

Well, if you asked me, this game really worth your while. For a gamer who is looking for a long hours of play with juicy graphics and realistic experience, your search have ended. This Is The Game! Yes, I dare to say this may be the one, yet. It have been released about 3 years ago, but it still kicking ass.

Now here is the REAL game about post-apocalytic world. The place setting was taken around Washington D.C, plus in the DLCs, other places included Pittsburg, Point Lookout State Park, Anchorage and alien mothership. The last one sounded kinda weird isn't? But yeah, you get to play on the alien mothership.
The time setting was about 200 years after the Great War, which is the supposed nuclear holocaust happened. In the plot, it is said that the nuclear missiles started to fly around in 2077, where nobody knows who start shooting it but managed to ravage the earth into wasteland.

Now, the whole world is in the state of wasteland, barren and void of... usual living things. Whats left are mutants, raiders, survivors and crazy bear & dogs. Hehe
The player, known as the Lone Wanderer, come out from the Vault to get some fresh air and kick some mutant's ass and ultimately defeated the anarchist Enclave. And of course to learn the truth about his father and, whats really going down out there. Hehe..

As you can see from the pictures, there are.. indicators for health, directions, and ammunition. Okay, what really distinguished Fallout 3 from all its prequel is its gameplay itself. Fallout 1 & 2 looked like the ol' Warcraft: The Dark Portal. You know, point and click kinda game. But under the artwork from Bethesda Studios, this new sequel takes form in FPS+RPG game. Bethesda have done a great job by revolutionize this game genre, and not to forget the V.A.T.S (Vault Assisted Targeting System), a new feature introduced in the game.

This game get so realistic, you feel like you REALLY wandering in the wasteland. There was a time during my first play, I was walking about in the wasteland and got smacked on the face by the crazy bear, Yao Guai.The thing is, I heard him growling and running towards me. But when I turned and start spewing some hot leads, that thing jumped towards me and.. just slapped me to death. Yeah, I seriously need some bad ass Power Armor to wander around the wasteland, should make a note for the future. Hehe

Next one coming, is Metro 2033. This game almost have the same theme like the Fallout 3, difference is that this game took place about 20 years after the nuclear holocaust.. in Moscow. Yup, this game have such a refreshing story because.. you know, like any other WWII game, its interesting to have a look on another front. And in this game, its the Eastern Front that we looking on.

The story is about a guy named Artyom, who was born on the day of nuclear holocaust. 20 years later, he is old enough, and the day of post-apocalyptic, every man able to bear arm is recruited. So does Artyom. How did these people survive the apocalypse? Like the game name suggested, there is a massive metro system underneath the Moscow city. They dwell under there, and salvage whatever they can. The currency used is, bullets. Not any bullet, but the fine-built bullet made during the pre-war. Just for the heads up, these bullets still can be used to shoot. So.. every bullets really counts in this game.

The thing is, in this game, the plot is quite straight-forward. Its not like Fallout 3, where you can easily travel and explore the world. Because the time setting is 20 years after the nuclear holocaust, the upper world is still polluted with radiations and yes... infested with wild animal mutants. The player could only briefly went to upper world, only to traverse to another metro station, with the help of a gas mask and a handful of leftover bullets from the pre-war. In this game, the player ultimate goal is to made contact with.. some kind of new human species, they have some kind of psychic power, and looked like the aliens from Roswell. Huh..

This game also demands alot of juices from a GFX card. I played the game with Nvidia GTX 275 card, and I could only play it on low setting. Don't get me wrong, even with low setting, the pictures are still awesome, but putting on high setting causes the game to crash.. on the start menu!

I don't have any screenshot for this game. For obvious reasons of course.. the game will start to crash every time I run any program on the background. Too bad..

Overall, the game is still great. The graphics are juicy, and the gaming experience is awesome. I mean, the gameplay really put the players in a realistic situation when resources are scarce and you got whole lot of carnivorous mutants swarming and chasing over your ass. Its like, Survival out there. Wooot~!

Yeah, beafore I forgot, the game have 2 ending. Bad and good. Bad, is that you destroyed the nest of the new humans. Good, you spare them and hope for better future. Its kinda hard of getting good ending.. 'coz it involves of NOT killing the Nazis. Yup.. What Nazis, you ask? Well, I guess you gotta play to know. Haha

I'll write about the Borderland game later. I really wanted to write a whole lot about it, and it doesn't seems adequate to cram the story here. Yeah.. Borderland, is it or is it not the rival for Fallout 3? We shall see.

Starcraft 2??

A new game from Blizzard Entertaintment.
Kinda take like forever before it was released. It was announced in May 2007, and now its already 2010.. Huh.

However, the game itself it not a disappointment. Seriously. I thought this game would be just like Tiberium War : Twilight, but I was wrong. This game totally rocks. Although there are bits of.. dispute about the game balance, I still think this game is one hell of a sequel.

I'm still playing this game though, so I wouldn't write the review yet. But there are some of the things I still wanna write down. I just couldn't hold it off anymore!! Hehe

First of all, the graphic. Yeah, all new games nowaday seems to be competing to be which one have the more juices. Well, for Starcraft 2, this game totally have a juicy graphic. Not just in the in-game graphic, but also the cinematic. It just.. Awesome. The camera couldn't be adjusted though so player wouldn't be able to.. rotate to see the units in detail. Seems that Blizzard still wanted to retain the originality of this game.

Second, is the gameplay. The gameplay is still the same like the prequel. You know, the usual point and click game. The only difference is that, in this new sequel, players will have a list of mission to do, including optional and secret mission. And some of this mission will require the player to make decision. There is no bad or good consequences from this decision making, but what it does is... you get to see cool cinematic and a different scenario. But the ending is all the same anyway. Example is like when you choose to go againt Tosh, and support Nova. Tosh will no longer lingering around in your Cantina but Nova won't join you. So less conversation in your cruiser then. Yeah, something like that. Hehe.

And lastly, the plots. Yeah, its plot is just refreshing. Starcraft 2 is made into a trilogy. The first being the Wings of Liberty, the next is the Heart of the Swarm and lastly is the Legacy of Void. Just like the name suggested, the game each take a story for each faction for the Terran, the Zerg, and the Protoss. Right now what I'm playing is the Wings of Liberty. The other 2 haven't yet released.. hope it got released soon..

Well, that is all. Just for the heads up, the game requires internet to be installed. Or CD key for offline installation. But that is all, no worries. Seriously, no mumbo jumbo like Ubisoft ridiculous DRM like the Settlers 7. So the game is not only great, but also playable.
Isn't that is the most important part? Haha

Can't wait to finish the game and see the end of.. Tychus Findlay. Yea.. BTW that the name of the guy in the Starcraft 2 trailer. The one who said...

Today is already Monday, and it almost end..

I waited over 5 hours, 5 HOURS outside the Graha building. Watching people going in and out, while puffing smokes like a chimney, waiting whether that big-headed pussy will answer my challenge. I sat on a chair in the D'Mamak restaurant, drinking 4-5 glasses of 'teh tarik'.

Phew.. finally my intersession have finished.. Talk about 1 month of cramming'n jamming my head with everything that is in the textbook, then take the paper at the end of month. Why is it hard? 'Coz that 1 month is equal to 6 month of study... I'm glad its over, though I only have like a week holiday left until the next semester open up.

Usually I would just cooked some rice and fried a chicken egg. Or, just fried some hotdogs or burger beef and eat it with bread and ketchup.
Well, thats what a lone man cooks. Sometimes when I met girl friends of mine at Tesco or Cold Storage, they surely gonna ask, "No vegetables, seasonings or even a fish?". And I would like, "What for?". All I need is egg, frozen chickens, hotdogs or beef, rice and bread, and some onions with potatoes.
Wow, at least I'm not eating too much on those instant noodles. Haha

Finally, I'm back to PD. Whaa.. aat?
Don't I have class on Monday? Well apparently, I won't have class on Monday because the lecturer have thing to do in that day, every Monday. Meaning that I'll have extra hours of class in other day like Tuesday or Friday. Huh, still need to fulfill the credit hour requirement.

It seems to be a long weekend this time, because I'm practically spend 3 days and 3 night with Amy. We had fights here and there, but it was more toward funny than intense. Amy looked so cute when she was angry, especially with that mole under her lips. Makes me wanna kiss her so badly.

Thank you dear, for giving me such a good time. But yeah, I have to admit, we were going out way too much. Even your dad started to question it, how many times do we have to date a week? Haha. But then again, we just have to meet. There are such much to share together.
