[Movie] 'Suicide Squad' suicided itself
I just don't understand. When I saw the trailer, the movie looked so good. But it turned out to be less than good. What and where did it went wrong? Its mind boggling, the fact that the film boasted many excellent actors and actresses, and fresh premises. And yet, it was not as good as I expected."Superman is dead. Let's make our own team of supermen. One that is under our control." |
So who gonna keep the emerging meta-humans and space alien attacks, in check? Amanda suggested that they use what 'resources' that they have, which is the super-villains that the government kept imprisoned, to make a team that can do the government some good. It will be like, a rehabilitation program for criminals or something, except its for the super-villains and they will be super dangerous to be let out of their cages.
"When I'm out of here, I'm gonna shoot y'all right between the eyeballs." |
Even better news, because of these peeps reputation as criminals, if any of this team's operation went wrong, the government can just cut ties and left them hang out to dry. They all criminals anyway. So it will be win-win situation for the government.
But the bad news is, these peeps are super-villains for a lot of reasons. Number one, is obviously because they are evil to the max. Number two, because they many times more powerful than your average Joe. And number three, their ambition goes beyond than your average Joe. Even beyond Amanda Waller's.
The selected super-villains are, Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Killer Croc (Adewale Kinnouye-Agbaje), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), and Slipknot (Adam Beach). They all will have nano bomb planted in their neck, and they would be used as disposable assets for high-risk suicidal missions. And their team will be codenamed as, Task Force X. Also known as the Suicide Squad. Hmm, sounds like things gonna get really interesting from here.
This is not how you catch a train. |
How so? Well, first of all, the Joker (Jared Leto) was already on the move to break Harley Quinn out from the super secret super max prison of Belle Reve. Being a super-villain that specialized as criminal mastermind, Joker went straight for security officer Griggs that had been taking 'good care' of his beloved Harley Quinn, he had Griggs 'helped' him to do some tiny 'adjustment' to the nano bombs. In other word, the Squad was compromised from the get-go.
And second, the antagonist came from Amanda's own bullshit agenda. She thought she had the Enchantress under her thumb, but Enchantress have a brother, Incubus, sealed in a bottle. And that bottle was located in Amanda's office, which was within reach of the Enchantress. Even better, Incubus are not under control by Amanda.
Its looks like a bunch of floating garbage, but its a mystical weapon that can wipe humanity. |
So Enchantress freed her brother, and had him wrecked havoc in Midway City and amassed enough mystical power to bring humanity down to their knees. Amanda, unaware of the relation between the two, send Enchantress to deal with the Incubus. In which Incubus used the amassed power to free his sister from Amanda's control. By the time Amanda realized the two of them was in cahoot, it was too late.
Nobody knows what is going on at this point. |
What about Joker? He did arrived there to rescue Harley, but his helicopter got shot down. Harley survived the crash, but instead of looking for 'Puddin', whether or not he was still alive, she went straight back to the Suicide Squad and just pretended like nothing happened.
I'm gonna be honest. I totally lost it when Amanda got kidnapped by the Enchantress, without the Enchantress trying to retrieve back her own heart. Which can kill the Enchantress if its was destroyed.
I tried to follow the plot line. I really did. But there were a lot of those backstory flashback scenes, and random plot holes such as, Incubus death was caused by a bomb and why the Enchantress doesn't have a nano bomb in her neck, and many more. Ultimately I lost interest to care about the ending. Such a waste.
