Benefits of drinking coffee

Coffee is a well known beverage that not only good for health but also provide energy boost. Drinking coffee in the morning is good to start your day refreshed and energized. It is also known that coffee could help reducing weight other than just keeping yourself awake early in the
morning.
It is true that coffee can help people to feel less tired. This is because coffee contains a stimulant called caffeine, one of the most commonly known and consumed psychoactive substance in the world.

When caffeine is consumed, it will be absorbed into the bloodstream and from there it will travel to the brain. Wait- what does that suppose to mean? The caffeine goes to the brain? Should it be going to be, you know, under like when you are taking a dump, or something similar?

Well, you see, in the brain there is this thing called Adenosine, an inhibitory neurotransmitter, and caffeine blocks them. This allows other neurotransmitter like Norepinephrine and Dopamine to increase in amout leading to enhanced neurons firing.

So what does that even mean? It means that coffee that improve various aspects of brain function that includes your memory, mood, energy levels, reaction times and general cognitive function. Coffee can also helps to fight depression. A joint study from U.S National Institutes of Health and AARP shows that those who consumed 4 or more cups of coffee were 10% less likely to be depressed than someone who doesn't drink coffee at all. However the results were not relying on caffeine effect on mental-health only, but also put in the coffee's antioxidant property as well.

Suffice to say, coffee contain both caffeine and antioxidant that have positive effect on the coffee drinker's mental health. Supported by Harvard School of Public Health, coffee also show an astonishing statistic where drinking 2 to 4 cups of coffee a day reduces the risk of suicide in both men and women by 50%. However, the test also shows that those who drank more than 8 to 9 cups per day, exponentially increase the risk of them committing suicide.

Why? Because coffee can also trigger migraine if consume excessively. Its what they call 'caffeine withdrawal'. But compared with other caffeinated drinks like Coke and Pepsi, coffee have lesser risk from the caffeine withdrawal. Not to mention both of the carbonated drinks contained copious amount of sugar AND caffeine. While coffee contains caffeine, chlorogenic acid, and alkaloid trigonelline that helps to increase metabolic rate, reduce early glucose, and insulin responses as well. In other word, coffee can helps you reduce your weight.

So drink right. Drink healthy.
