[Tutorial] DiGi Internet/MMS setting
Probably the most famous mobile communication service provider in Malaysia. Their advertisements are everywhere, and they have a very appealing mascot. Its a dancing fat guy in a yellow tight suit. But being famous doesn't necessarily meant most subscribed. DiGi Telecommunications Sdn. Bhd. is considered to be one of the three major competing telecommunication service providers in Malaysia, others being Maxis and Celcom.
Though, their services were notoriously unreliable. I remembered when I first subscribed to a DiGi postpaid plan, and the staff at one of the service center told me that my number will be activated within 10 minutes, or an hour, give or take another couple of hours. It ended up after 2 days, and my line had yet activated. At that time I was using Celcom prepaid, and I still had some credit to spare, so I didn't mind much. But when I go the service center again, there was another staff, who quickly apologized and activated my line right then right there. Now that, completely annoyed me. Why, the fucking hell didn't the other staff just did that, 2 days earlier?? I hope that fucker got hit by a truck and died a horrible death.

Maxis Berhad is also one of the largest telecommunication company in Malaysia. Also possibly the only integrated communication service provider in the country, with Telekom Malaysia as their rival. They have extensive range of communication products, applications and value added services. Their most famous brand is the popular prepaid brand 'Hotlink'.Notorious for charging obscure items in their customers' bill, most people would say Maxis services are expensive. They were also allegedly involved in the Aircel scandal, an Indian mobile network operator headquartered in Chennai. But Maxis is comparable to the giant telecommunication goverment-linked company such as Telekom Malaysia, where Maxis was the one that launched 3 of the Malaysian first satellites, MEASAT 1, 2, and 3. While Telekom Malaysia is the backbone for earth satellite and land cables in Malaysia. No wonder Maxis charges are quite pricey.

Celcom Axiata Berhad, one of the oldest, and possibly the second most popular mobile telecommunications company in Malaysia. Notorious for their 'unlimited of something' promotions in various internet plan packages. Their services are mostly used by students and probably young adults as well, making them the highest wireless broadband provider subscribed in the industry.Thursday, July 3, 2014

[Tutorial] How to increase internet speed
I felt a little bit guilty because a lot of people went over to my Celcom broadband trick blog post that no longer work. It was an old trick, and yes in a way it was a some sort denial-of-service (DoS) attack. But it worked because the Celcom ISP at that time were limiting the bandwidth from their server, so the DoS was meant to render their limitation useless, allowing us direct path to the internet gateway. Something like that.I had another blog post actually, how to bypass the broadband limit and such. But I took it down after I was made abundantly clear that such information was actually classified. Corporate secret or something, I think. Only the ISP operator should have access to that kind of information, and yes, that is why if you ever worked in the ISP building, you'll noticed that their internet speed IS NOT capped. But that was all history, and today sharing is something people doesn't care anymore. Though, that will not stop me from writing. In a way, this is like my own personal note. Something possibly useful for me in the future.

![[Tutorial] How to do Port Forwarding](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwa0-KPjV62QRnnNXi6ti46c8eWS6sWJatd3in7UKKseWtcXfCyu1Ht1hYUq6vTuVi8bVLag7ZnlBLdXiU1BTUY6NSS-xha0uND7JtintdJ7fZPEOohe1VoHoPcbf9fDi_1v8bi16jxMcJ/s72-c/portforward1.png)
[Tutorial] How to do Port Forwarding
Port forward or commonly known as 'opening blind port' for those who loves doing P2P (Peer-to-Peer). Ok fine, its torrent. Those who loves to torrent. As you all know, open port allows you to connect to more peers or users, giving you higher speed when downloading torrent. Port forward is usually for the private torrent tracker, where the tracker connects you to only specific peers that are members of the private torrent community. Public tracker usually doesn't effect your connectivity with other peers (because you basically able to connect whoever that is online) and even if you are unable to connect to some of the peers, the numbers are usually insignificant. But still, opening your port or port forwarding helps you to connect every one thus in a way, it will boost your download speed (still depend on your internet bandwidth of course). The idea of port forwarding is making your port open and available to be connected with other peers in the same network, by making you IP address to be static instead of dynamic making it easier to be recognized by other peer. In case you doesn't realize, most if not all of the ISPs (Internet Service Providers) nowadays block default P2P port. Some corporate company or education institution network also block default P2P to avoid their network from being abused (you are not suppose to torrent at you workplace).
So I decided to make a tutorial on how to port forward in the most general way of all. I won't be providing screenshot because different modem or router have different user interface. So if I to provide a screenshot, then it would be on one brand of modem/router. Better to understand the general setting so that next time you got yourself a different set of modem/router, you'll know just what to do regardless of the bedazzling and fancy user interface. Truth is, this is more of a note for myself for future use.

[Tutorial] Free VPN for high speed surfing
To tell you the truth, I'm not sure yet whether its legal to urm.. you know post about VPN that allows you high speed unlimited bandwidth that would surpass your broadband cap. Its some sort of a grey area where you kind of agree with your internet service provider to be capped by certain limit, but then VPN services is like a third party services that help boost your internet speed that doesn't directly violates your agreement, but then again, you are connected to your ISP's internet gateway. Its a slippery slope, right there. The thing is that, by boosting your own internet speed over you capped limit, will put a strain to you ISP gateway. High speed for you, lower speed for the rest of the subscribers out there. Although, your ISP doesn't exactly keep true to their words to the subscribers even when you abide their policies. Its not uncommon to hear other subscribers to complain the internet line is so slow, the pages that they wanted to access ended up being timed-out, wasting those what little precious bandwidth that they have left with. So, I decided to start with a VPN that specialize on surfing. And by surfing, I mean no P2P. What is P2P u ask? You know what it is, those Torrent, Kazaa, Shareaza, and etc. Out of 10 tips and trick that I got to improve or boost internet speed, I am certain that 9 of it already either outdated or blocked out. VPN is only but one way to improve your internet speed. It seems nowadays, you need to choose between surfing smoothly or download like crazy. Let us start with surfing first. Don't worry, the VPN that I'm writing about is free.

[Tutorial] Can VPN bypass broadband quota?

That my friends, is what you should ask first and foremost before you subscribes to any VPN at all. So what exactly does a VPN actually do? And why do they promote their services by flinging around words like 'unlimited' and 'unrestricted'? Does it mean like when a whorehouse advertise that you can get to fulfill every nasty fetishes possible in this world only in their premises but actually they just gonna put you to sleep and mug you blind, or does it mean like that time when you send your car to a workshop and the mechanic uses some fancy and confusing jargon asking you to pay this and replace that but in the end your car still going smoky on you while in the middle of the road back to your house?
Press Read More... to finally get the answer that has been bugging you ever since your internet connection have been throttled by your local lying stinking internet service provider.

[Tutorial] How to bypass Broadband limit *Updated
Lets face it, you CAN'T.I know, I know.. I did write an entry before on how to bypass your broadband limit using a CMD 'ping' command. Well, it did work at that time.. Its true. I used it myself back then. But time changes, and for your ISP company's policy its doubly so. The thing is, nowadays whenever you hit the bandwith cap, they will just simply cut off your internet line until you make a payment to increase the bandwith for the month (or for the day) depends on which service provider that you choose.
But with the recent event of internet censorship, website banning, people jailing, and more.. hey, there's a case where a person got jailed just because he posted something in his facebook saying something bad about the police force. In his facebook! I mean, who could've seen his post other than his friends and peers? Well apparently the government is watching your post too. So, try not to tell everyone how big is your shit in the can every morning. The government keeps track on your shit, you know.

[Tutorial] How to bypass broadband limit
As we all now.. most ISP provider nowadays have put a limit for broadband bandwidth onto their customer. The most obvious one is Celcom Broadband. Because.. they send a message saying that they going to do so. And not just that. The subsequent offer for sales that comes later started to show a table of limitation or restriction for user to download/upload per month. This is actually not a new issue. It have been around since last year. It just that.. now I'm feeling like sharing a tutorial. Haha.
For a product that you spends money on, it is a bad idea to be restricted on its usage. Especially when you need an unlimited access to it. Customers usually complains that if the new restriction are to be imposed, why not reduce the subscription prices? For those who feel cheated and treated unfairly, you don't have to worry. There is a sinister but yet a simple way to breach the broadband limit imposed by the ISP provider. With that being said, be warned. Do this on your own risk..

Well, you need not to worry anymore.
Yes, there is a way to bypass the blockade imposed by the MCMC.
This can be done because the blockade is made based on DNS (Domain Name Server).
So to bypass the block, you only need to change the DNS from your ISP into another free DNS, preferably Google Public DNS.
